As Today Is Disability Day - Is It High Time That We Had WHEELCHAIR DANCING ON STRICTLY Come Dancing

" The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is marked on 3 December every year "

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/wo...s-8980356.html

" Wheelchair dancing boosts self-esteem.. there's no pressure, it's strictly fun "

" This is Strictly Come Wheelchair Dancing. Unlike the star-studded TV show, there is no glitter, no sequins, no live band and no fake tans. "

Actually I did see that version on tv can't remember what it was called something on wheels? It was very good and if I remember rightly Mark foster won. The only thing is that sometimes it's hard to be critical as of course the non celebs were in wheelchairs.

Terry you do like to keep busy with your threads don't you lol.

Please stop bolding / trying to bolden everything and using capital letters on all words.

Your thoughts deserve no more highlighting than anyone else's.

As A Result Of The Contrast Teething Issues Of The New Site Layout Another Poster Has Kindly Suggested That We All Bold Everything In Order To Assist Those With Sight Difficulties and Restrictions, I Thought That The Poster Was Very Considerate And Should Be Congratulated For Trying To Help Others, Do You Too?

Dancing on Wheels which I believe was and still is the brainchild of Brian Fortuna and his mum, Sandra

There was 1 series shown here in the UK, James and Ola were 2 of the judges, not sure how or why a second series wasn't commissioned but I think it's a bigger thing in the USA,

I've been bolding everything because it's a lot easier to read without squinting than the insipid grey on brilliant white.

I saw Dancing on Wheels, and thoroughly enjoyed it, even though the British couple were a bit out of their depth when pitched into the competition.

I wish they'd done another season.

I Quite Agree, With The Current Contrast Teething Troubles Posting In Bold Makes Everything So Much Easier On The Eye, It Is An Inspirational Idea To Help Others Which You Deserve Credit For Bringing To Our Attention,Thank You.

It Makes Everything So Much More Easy To Read Even For Those Without Any Sight Difficulties.

I do wish I had seen Dancing On Wheels, I Agree Its A shame They Did Not Continue With It.

I also enjoyed watching it, but agree it was obvious when they got to the competition how seriously the other countries were taking it, as they were totally out of their depth.
Agree it would have been good to see another series, but I think it was all about the time when Brian left Strictly so may have been why it was dropped.

I suspect the reason it was dropped may be more to do with the problem finding contestants.

I know one of the people who did it and am reliably told that the biggest problems came from BBC3 executives who were obsessed with finding young contestants, as otherwise it 'wouldn't feel like' a show made for their channel. The contestant who was outside the target age range had a real battle to be accepted by the producers.

An extraordinary case, then, of ageism - and incredible short-sightedness by the BBC, as this could surely have been a show that could have transferred to BBC One if it had been given higher production values (it looked like it was filmed in a warehouse decorated with drapes).

So what do you do when you want to emphasise a word then - SHOUT BY TYPING IN CAPITALS? That's what capitals mean - SHOUTING! Really yelling is typing in BOLD CAPITALS. It's bad manners to shout on a forum.

I'm used to the new look now and have no trouble reading normal type.

Well bully for you. There's a lot of people on these forums who are getting headaches because of squinting to read the godawful faint grey tiny text on the brilliant white background.

Instead of selfishly thinking of yourself all the time, why don't you have a bit of consideration for those who may not have perfect eyesight.

I'm going to be posting in bold until the contrast improves, so I suggest that you put both myself and Terry on ignore, so you don't see the posts if it upsets you that much.

Why don't you try using italics for emphasis? One doesn't have to shout to put one's point across.

You may be used to the new look, but the site is not accessible any more due to the lack of contrast and tiny writing, and it's invisible or headache making to partially sighted people, or those without perfect eyesight.

It doesn't affect me at all any more, I'm looking at large white text on a black background, but maybe it might be a nice idea to consider people other than yourself?

Actually I have a bad eyesight myself, but I still find it better for reading when it's not bold. It's distracting when in bold. So get off your high horse and be careful, it might kick you in the face. Ask Dappy.

Who or what is Dappy?

Also, if I remain sitting on a high horse, how on earth is it going to kick me in the face? Seems a much safer proposition.

I'm not being inconsiderate, just repeating web etiquette.

You can change the size of the text on all browsers for the whole message and make it larger by holding the Ctrl key and scrolling forward with the scroll wheel on your mouse. That gets over the tiny text problem. If you use Firefox, you can change the colours to suit your own preference. I know not everyone does use Firefox, but if not you can still alter the brightness and contrast of your screen to make it more comfortable. To use your words, it might be a nice idea to consider people other than yourself who've said that bold is bad for them.

On the way down of course. N-Dubz' Dappy 'kicked in the face by a horse'

What, both of them?

Out of how many people complaining that they are getting headaches from squinting at the tiny grey text?

You don't like looking at my posts, you have the ability to ignore me, use it. There are a couple of forum members I no longer see posts from, so I know it works, and you and Ivan are about to join them.

I find it incredibly ironic that we are having this discussion on a thread about dancing with disability.

Some Might Say That Your Comment is Both Rude And Extremely Inconsiderate Towards Those With Sight Limitations Who Are Currently Struggling with The Site Contrast levels, I will Give You The Benefit Of The Doubt To Reconsider However.

What Is Your Opinion On Wheelchair Dancing On Strictly?

No, I won't, I have eyesight problems, too. I have more problems with all bold all capital text. Why it is okay to be inconsiderate to me?

I am Trying To Understand The Problems That You Are Experiencing, But You Have not Explained Exactly What They Are Unfortunately, Just That You Have Them.
