According to this article, Amy's Dad has told a friend (don't they always!) that Amy has brought it upon herself and needs to stop being a wimp.

Her dad seems to talk more sense than her fans

What a horrible view for a parent (or anyone) to have. No one can bring other people's behaviour on themself: those others are responsible for what they do.

Why the disloyalty ? Don't parents normally support their children !

No doubt, they are estranged and/or he didn't play a part in her upbringing !

The article itself calls them bullies and her dad saying she needs to toughen up is not defending the bullies! Sounds more like he thinks she should stand up to bullies and not let them win !

The digital spy story doesn't mention the word bullies.

That's how I read it too Rosie - the title of the article had little to do with the content!

Of course they can. if you have someone in your workplace who doesn't pull their weight, lies to cause trouble and is generally stand offish, then their co workers are going to talk about them. It's human nature.

It's a parents job to help their children fit into society, and if this means pointing out their faults, then that's what you do. Telling a child they're perfect and always in the right is not helping them. She needs to learn that if she doesn't make more of an effort she's going to continue to make people cross. This is the second show that she's been on where she has caused friction.

Personally I don't think her dad said that at all to this supposed friend.

What a peculiar thing to say.

In any case, that article is wholly sensational full of 'pals' and 'sources' with only one actual quote (and even that one's from a 'pal') allegedly from Amy's father, which is "She needs to stop being such a wimp and toughen up, stand up for herself."

Hardly 'a horrible view for a parent'.

But a great example of the over-dramatising that goes on here on the forum.

Good for him. Does anyone seriously believe that a parent would not be OUTRAGED if they thought their child was being bullied. She's had a normal human response from her father and her campmates, to her selfishness. Brought it on herself indeed. He knows her better than anyone or is that being questioned now by people who have seen her for a brief period on TV. Of course it is...... Hilarious!!! He also said she doesn't pull her weight at home but orders them to when they're in her flat. More fool them is all I say if they obey her. A real madam and a very spoiled woman.

Neither do I. It contrasts completely to the interview he gave directly to The Sunday Mirror where he blasted the bullying behavior.

I don't think this article is entirely factual

Since Sunday he has had a chance to talk to the evictees and got the FACTS, and is not just relying on the heavily edited highlights show.

Hence why the DS article is more believable than the one posted by the OP..

How tiresome and hysterical that the Bath Chronicle uses the word 'bullies' on such wafer-thin evidence. Someone called her lazy because she wasn't helping with any chores! What a bully they must be!

Well said. I'm amazed people are so quick to believe articles made up of quotes from sources and supposed friends.

While I don't think she was bullied I think you can agree that some also called her more than just lazy - which IMO was not justified.

I'm not sure any parent worth their salt would accept the perception of evicted camp mates he saw being rude as being 'fact'

Accepting Laylas version of events after THAT bizarre eviction interview? i think not

I'm sure he agreed that Amy has a tendancy to be idle as he stated that previously. However the idea of him dismissing the poor treatment of Amy after witnessing Annabel say 'Rebecca is the only one that can stomach her' is another matter entirely.

I think people are forgetting just how personal some of the remarks aimed at Amy were.

Why don't you think it was justified? It is impossible for the viewers to judge who is doing all the chores and who isn't, apart from snippets we see, so really the words of the others is the only evidence we have. There seems to be no disagreement that Rebecca, Kian and Matthew work hard and that Amy does least.

I genuinely think this is the weakest allegation of 'bullying' on a rtv show I have ever seen in the press. Amy has always been surrounded by kind people, supporting her; the alleged ill-treatment is incredibly mild and sporadic, and indeed seems limited to a small handful of ordinary comments. The only allegation Vincent, David and Alfonso made, apart from Mo taking away the tea towel, was that she seemed to be a bit left out when the other women were talking; this was followed by someone else - I can't remember who - saying that Amy was the one separating herself from the camp and choosing to sit on her own.

Layla called her a 'c***' or a 's***',not merely lazy. I don't even like typing the words,it disgusts me that Layla said them.

Annabel said that Rebecca was the only one who could 'stomach' Amy.

Lucy told Amy it was girls like her that forced her to get extensive plastic surgery.

Layla made fun of Amy's accent and manner in her eviction interview which was embarrasing to say the least. Ant and Dec were visibly uncomfortable.

There's just a few of many examples of the poor treatment of Amy that seem to have forgotten. Many many more can be provided.

She maybe partially responsible, but everything she does now is criticised or judged. She's totally being mistreated. She's younger and more sweeter and they know she's popular...
