Abbey and Aljaz are going to perform a Viennese Waltz to the Tom Jones classic ‘Delilha’.

Sophie and Brendan will Tango to Madonna’s ‘Material Girl’.

Susanna and Kevin will perform the Argentine Tango to Michael Jackson’s ‘Smooth Criminal’.

Natalie & Artem have the best combo of music and dance, there.

Sophie & Brendan have borrowed from the Darren Bennett Compilation of Innapropriately Camp Tango songs, and so larger the Dance Off looms for Team Giant.

was disappointed with the AT Tango choice but found we have a version at the studio that is an AT though I dont love it seems it can be played as one

Artem and Natalie have the second most traditional paso after Espana Cani as long as she does not do the over dramatic face stuff they should top board

Natalie's got the best music this week - she was due something decent to be fair. And the one dance Artem does impress me with choreography-wise is the Paso Doble. Should be really good.

Natalie and Artem should be OK with that. Not so sure about the others. Tom Jones is probably going to be fun and get people on their feet but Bruno Mars (IMO) is as slack, baggy and caterwaully as you can get (IMO) and I'm not fond of Madonna or Jackson. ...Tango? ...Argentine Tango? :s

Two reused songs this week.
Abbey and Aljaz are going to be compared to Kelly and Brendan which I don't think is a good thing because that VW back in series 5 is still my favourite VW ever.

Ali and Brian did a Paso Doble to Natalie and Artem's music this week, although it wasn't that good so Natalie has nothing to worry about.

Material girl for a Tango? Really???

Letitia & Darren did a Tango do it in Series 5. It really wasn't very good (it was all a bit Are You Being Served)

I can't put Sophie and 'Material Girl' together in my head. Can you imagine anyone less Madonna? I was so looking forward to her tango, but now I'm not at all sure.

Natalie's music is great, Abbey's OK and Ashley's could be OK if he can really go for it and not look awkward and apologetic as he sometimes does in Latin.

The others are a bit rubbish, I think. (If Kevin does Michael Jackson I may start to go off him.)

So glad that Natalie and Artem have traditional paso music and it should be a very good dance.

Ashley & Ola have a very familiar Salsa song (One club I play dominoes at occasionally used to have Salsa classes and Gloria Estefan's Conga was frequently used).

Abbey & Aljaž should be fine with a VW to Delilah.

Natalie & Artem get a traditional song for a change, although used before by Ali & Brian.

The rest will be more down to the choreography.

Natalie has got what looks like a very traditional Paso song choice, so she should definitely be amazing with that. Ashley's song choice is traditional for Salsa, so another great choice. I love Patrick's Rumba song and think that's a good fit for him. I'm not too familiar with Abbey's VW song as I didn't watch SCD5 but i'm sure it's a great choice. I think Smooth Criminal works well with a Tango but not really for an Argentine Tango but maybe it'll be re-arranged? The only song I don't get is Sophie's. Sophie's song choice is really strange and I don't get it at all for a Tango. That would have been more fitting for a Foxtrot.

Sophie is the complete opposite to a meterial girl, which is why the Sound of music suited her. Ah well her vote is strong

Ahh thanks. I just listened to the link you posted. That arrangement works a lot better for the Argentine Tango and makes me feel better about Susanna's dance. Although the technique is very intricate so I'm curious if she can pull that off.

Thank god for Natalie's dance because the rest are bad choices. If you're gonna reuse music, best not to pick an iconic dance which Kara's salsa was. Those lifts were outrageous, not a good idea to invite comparison.
I don't think as many people will remember Kelly's VW, so maybe Abbey will be ok on that front.

I can't imagine Susanna doing AT regardless of the song, hate Bruno Mars and his lame 'nice guy' lyrics and Material Girl is just... wtf was Brendan thinking?

I was 13 years old when she danced that VW and have remembered it since. Same with Kelly's jive.

I can't even remember her VW, let alone the fact they used the same music. I'd honestly be surprised if that many people outside this forum had any real recollection of it.

Oh I know some people will, cos Kelly was fabulous. Just thinking cos she unfortunately had to withdraw and it was a while ago, that most people wouldn't remember as much of her dances as Kara (a very popular winner plus in a more recent series).

I wonder if Susanna's AT might use the David Garrett version (instrumental)? It seems to work for an AT as far as I can tell.
