He isn't alone in being a thicko, the rest of the cast on his god awful show are too.
They are just all idiots who know only two things
1 Where the nearest tanning salon is
2 What shops sell the hair gel they cake on their heads

None of them can read so they make up their own words,
and then when faced with the most basic word in the dictionary, they stumble like Steve Davies at the start of a balance trial.

But guaranteed next year another of the morons will have a place in the jungle

I can't work out what significance you think his spelling it has. Do you think it suggests he isn't dyslexic?

Anyway, he struggled to pronounce it, not even getting sounds in the right order, and the celebs were finding it had to work out what the word was until he resorted to spelling it out. I think the interruption was because someone had worked out what the word was.

I thought he was dyslexic but we have seen him read other stuff with no problem we have even seen him solve anagrams so I am not sure what to believe anymore.

I think he's playing the 'thick' card personally.

Just my opinion of course.

Less of the "we". It was just Wonkey being clever.

Did you tech them when to use "of" and when to use "have" ?

Whilst I do think he puts the 'thick' act on for effect ( asking what 'clash' and 'punchline' meant, but knowing instantly what contraband meant for example), I do not think that in this case it was deliberate.

To me, it seemed clear that he wanted to get it right, You could tell he was trying and appeared to make a special effort after he had his stumble. I'm not a fan of Joey and would be pretty annoyed if he won, but on this occasion, I thought it was a genuine mistake ( whether down to his poor reading skills or something like dyslexia, I'm not sure)

This is why I never correct anyone's posts - it's too easy to make a mistake yourself !

I have a dyslexic niece and have watched him carefully. Joey read out laminates more than once to the group without any difficulty at all. He has also read a few times, instructions etc, without any difficulty. He knew how to correct the spellings in the crossword trial and also got the "anagram" of crocodile in a split second. I don't believe he is dyslexic. The whole "dumb" thing is an act.
Not that being uneducated or of lower intelligence is anything to do with dyslexia, it's the other nonsense he spouts.

To be fair, my friend, who has dyslexia, can't read 'glimpses' either. She is intelligent (predicted AAB at A level) as well so it is not because she is thick.

This whole 'thick' thing has surely run its course now? It was s bIt funny when he started doing it, but it's very boring now.

Either people are going to vote for him as the person he is, ignoring the pretend thick bit, or vote for him as they think it's really funny that someone is thick like that, which says a lot for society of that happens.

Also, his school, High Beech, has refused to say anything about the education he received there.

I suppose Norman Wisdom made his career back in the old days from playing the fool, but what a tedious bore he was too.
I thought the human race had moved on from finding, pretend or otherwise fools, funny but sadly no. We seem to be regressing. Dumbed down Britain alive and kicking. I'm so glad my teenage Grandchildren think he's a boring man too.
I respect the school in that decision.

I don't think he's very bright & I do think he, for whatever reason, plays on it.
However last night, something made me think he was being genuine in his inability to pronounce glimpses.

IMO he has made a name for himself as the thicky so is just keeping to his character. Not with just not being able to read glimpses but in general in there. You wonder if he was that thick would he be able to even get out of bed in the morning.

When did it become popular to be thick.

Exactly . He's presumably on the autistic spectrum , dyslexia has been wildly mentioned regarding Joey but it could be a few ' conditions ' all overlapping .

Perhaps he simply misread it? I do it all the time and I wouldn't describe myself as 'thick'.

Failing that, dyslexia.

It wasn't what I'd call a misreading; he struggled to pronounce the word and had to start spelling it out before one of the others worked out what word it was.
