Yes he did say he'd wake her up because he wasn't going to bed he never said anything about being lazy (at the time he wouldn't have known she was lazy because he was in the other camp)

Also, the "Amy is lazy" meme hadn't yet affected anyone.

No,it was in the show tonight that he said that she was lazy and that's why he had to wake her up.

And if you'll remember rightly (now wake up - this happened only about an hour ago) the reason he brought that up wasn't anything to do with laziness - it was regards another of her traits - selfishness. He said he'd woken her up on that task (admittedly she didn't ask to be) and in return for his kindness when they were talking about the possibility of alcohol in a dingo-dollars challenge - she said flatly that she wouldn't choose alcohol - and THAT is what riled Matthew.

The laziness was just another string to her bow!

Dear oh dear! People can be lazy and still be nice people you know - even Matthew said that at the end of his talk on the after-show.

That is what I'm saying, how would not have known she's lazy when he lived in the other camp. So he did wake her up because he said he would and not because she was lazy, only when they merged did he find out she was lazy.

The impression I got at the time was that he was indifferent to the task, but accepted that someone had to stay awake, so was the gentleman and let the young woman who was doing it with him sleep. Thought it was really decent of him to be honest. I never got the impression Amy was lazy either; it was before he knew her properly, and after all it was a pretty gruelling task involving staying up all night. I guess, now he's thinking on reflection, it's just number 1 on a long list of things that has annoyed him.

Exactly - in fact I'm sure he said to her 'you may as well sleep - I'll wake you up' - he offered and she didn't ask - so that's his mistake entirely. Maybe he should have just let her sleep through, not wake her up, so he could just take his time and get all his camp's luxuries. I bet he wishes he had - as one of the luxuries for Amy's camp was tooth-picks - to which I believe they both said 'what a waste of a luxury'. I actually got the impression that Matthew LIKED Amy at that point - it was only when she returned the favour by making her 'no alcohol' comments later which seemed to be the straw that broke the camel's back.

Nice spin but I don't think so he just shares the same opinion of the angel as a hell of a lot of other people and was unfortunate enough to have to live with her. I would rally love to see how the Amy supporters would enjoy waiting on her hand and foot without complaint . Then they would be accused of bullying her of course

Each of those campmates have/had an agenda . Matthew disliked Amy from the start, as did Lucy, Mo,Annablel and Steve . This colours their thinking and behaviour .
