The series finale of TOWIE usually gets under 2 million viewers

and Joey was just one of many cast members of TOWIE

When Steve Davis played Dennis Taylor in the 1985 World Championship snooker final, it got a peak audience of 18.5 million viewers. That's how big snooker was.

People over the age of 40 pretty much all know and remember Steve Davis. He was one of the biggest names in sport for 10 years.

Even though he hasn't been playing, people who remember the 80s (ie most of the current population) would remember him.
Mo, for example, talked about how she remembers him in the 80s.

And when you talk about most famous person you aren't just talking most famous among people under 25.

There's more people over 40 than under 25. And among the over 40s, most wouldn't know who Joey is but they would definitely know who Steve Davis is.

Even for people under 25 I don't think joey is the most famous.

I'm 29, dont remember the 80s but i know who Steve Davis was...there was a snooker based game show called big break in he mid 90s which he sometimes appeared on it plus he has an OBE as does Rebecca.

I had heard of everybody on the show this year except for alfonso, Amy, David, and annabel. How alfonso can claim to be the most famous I don't know?!

I think Al is the most famous of the campmates globally because the Fresh Prince was exported all over the world.
Like Vincent even knew who he was.
The Fresh Prince finale got 19.9 million viewers in America alone.
It was fairly popular around the world and gets rerun to this day.

I don't think there's much argument that globally he is the most recognised even if people don't know he's called Alfonso.

Same for me. I usually have to be told who the sportsmen are - Davis, Bristow, Bugner.

It's a bit like their 'surveys' which are probably tiny, I imagine they probably ask a couple of the crew their views. If they asked 20 people under 25 who live in Essex then MAYBE Joey would be the most famous... but if you polled 10,000 aged 18-80 countrywide then Joey would be near the bottom. I do hope it doesn't go to Joey's head!
