Ava had much potential but her character was ruined by Sam.

The writers and the actress didn't help either.

Awful exit but at least she's going.

From that it sounds like Sam could re-appear?

Another, 'send 'em to random, far-away part of the country so they can never return to London' exit! How exhilarating!

Seriously, Jane went to Wales, Tanya to Devon and even Zainab went to Pakistan! Not to mention the countless, 'run away to Spain' exits (a la Stacey Slater). How boring and unoriginal.

Besides, Ava is a woman who is basically obsessed with her son, why would she leave him and take a job hundreds of miles away at the drop of a hat?

FFS Dexter who can speak so fast he doesn't come up for air is not going?
He gives me a bloody headache when he speaks because he is hard to keep up, the other day I called the Guinness book of records and they told me a better actor had beat him to the post, only Road Runner from Warner Brothers Cartoons sigh!
Oh P.S Ava wont be missed and smiling assassin one kidney Sam!

Sam & Dexter should not have been introduced in the first place.

Three weeks before Christmas Ava interviews for a job up the other end of the country, without telling her live-in son, partner or mother she's only just met.

Realism.

The interview was at the begining of the week she spoke to Dexter and Cora about it.

I was wondering who that ginger haired guy was, then realised it was Jay (never noticed that he had really ginger hair)

As soon as Ava goes to Newcastle we will never hear of her again, unless Dexter leaves to go and live with her.

Not about the implications. Would Sam follow her up there or would they split? Is Dexter happy to move away suddenly when he was so desperate to stay in Walford? Is Cora happy about her last daughter in Walford moving away when they've only just found each other?

About time. The Hartmans were one of the worst families introduced in recent times. The actress who plays Ava isn't the greatest in the world and the writings been very inconsistent for her. It hasn't helped that Tanya left shortly after she arrived, they have barely touched on her and Cora's relationship and she hasn't formed any other friendships on the Square/

Also why did they bring Ava in if they had no plans for her, they made a big deal about Cora's long lost daughter but cba to develope this or their relationship properly. Adding Sam just made things 10x worse, he dragged her down.

Please don't send Ava up here! *old eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek! smile* Once she starts screeching we'll hear her from Berwick to Middlesbrough!

LOL!!! I often have to have the subtitles on when Dexter goes off on one. His 'highlight' so far has been the 'soap!, soap! I want soap Mum!' monologue. My ears were bleeding, the dog was howling and the mice had threw themselves on the traps.

I was wondering who that ginger haired guy was, then realised it was Jay (never noticed that he had really ginger hair)

*prays* please let Dexter go to Newcastle. Just make it Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia!

I won't miss Ava. She was actually a wasted opportunity because I thought she had great potential when Tanya found her but then they changed her personality, albeit limited back history and saddled her with Dexter and, much worse, stifling Sam!

The treatment of this family reminds me of The Karims back in the day, they were also kept apart from the rest of the cast and rarely mixed.

The episode where Cora told Patrick she had a daughter called Ava really showcased what a great Actress Ann Mitchell is and then we all knew that she would find Ava or at least Tanya would but then they have made a complete hash of it from the inception.

Ava was supposed to have been educated yet lived on the edge of a sink estate with a son who worked in a garage? they should have never brought in Dexter so soon and should have developed Ava and Cora's relationship and then cast her son but at an older age, Ava is 48 so her Son could have been older and more educated- he could have arrived as a young doctor or a teacher- this has been poorly executed from the start and left Cora with only her teenage Grandchildren left.

Sam was the worst casting this year and was massive in the failure of the Hartmans as a Family unit.

21 is a good age for her son considering the idea she dedicated her early life to education. Making him a former gang member turned low level mechanic with a diction problem not so good.

I like Dexter though, hopefully this does him the world of good now that I won't be reminded of where he's meant to come from all the time.
