Ive bought a phone for my wife for Christmas that was locked to Vodaphone, its a Hauwei Ascend G300.
I purchased an Unlock code from Ebay, which, after entering the code was succesful.
However its not showing any info from the sim, no network is showing, no contacts(off sim) etc.
The sim is from a 3 Monthly Contract.

Is it just a matter of adding a new APN for 3?
Is there anything else i have to do?

Call three and ask them to help you set the phone (APN/MMS) up.

That should be it.

I’ve got a 3, 3-2-1 sim in my G300 and there is no network shown in the notification window however if you pull the notification window down it should say “Hutchison 3G UK Ltd” along the bottom.

The only other time it will show any network name is when you wake before unlocking the phone and it shows just a “3” that’s easy to miss.

I can’t remember what the original ROM showed but I’m using CyanogenMod with Android 4.0.4 now.

These are the APN setting I have but they may be different for contract phones.

APN type : default,supl,mms

Can’t help on the contacts thing as I just sync with the contact in my Google account.

Are you sure the contacts were saved to the sim in the original phone?
