Is the forum going really SLOW these days?

When I click on a thread to view the posts it takes an age for the page to refresh. Is it the same for you guys?

Been saying for ages. Flash banners and autoplay videos kill this site. Although in fairness, it seems a little faster than it was before the makeover.

Still eye-torturing though

Yes and I wish I wouldn't jump to the conclusion it's my laptop setup at fault till I see the likes of your post!

Shame really cos I've always liked DS but I'm not going to spend half my life waiting for a screen to reload.

The new look is bad enough, but if it is going to be this slow now then I think we should look elsewhere for our forum fix.

This is unusable.

I really do think that this has been done on purpose, its almost as if TPTB want this place shut down

Mine's going really slow too - but I thought it was my old PC. Sadly we have a local town forum that has also just changed to a very similar new format, with much the same results. I've been told it's to make it more compatible for those that use smart phones and tablets. Yahoo mail has recently changed too, with lots of complaints. Anyone up for a conspiracy theory?

It's the same for me too. It's really annoying. Weirdly, this is the only thread I've been able to open and post on so far today!

Seems like the threads with lots of pages take ages to open. Like I've said previously, the spoiler thread on Saturday night is going to be lots of fun!! Think there will be mayhem.

Slow for me too for the past few days. Can't remember though if it started just before the changes or not.

Don't know. The background's so blazing white and the print so pale, it takes 20 minutes before I realise I'm not looking at a totally blank screen.

And all the wasted white space means barely 2 very short posts on screen at once.

If you use Chrome (I think it works with Firefox, too) you can get an add-on called AdBlock that blocks all adverts on websites
