Thought it might be fun to have a thread where we discuss which artists and bands we listen to other than acts from X Factor acts.

I listen to A LOT more older music compared to stuff in the charts today...still some modern stuff though

So Oasis, Keane, Kasabian, Lighthouse Family, George Benson, Stevie Wonder, The (Detroit) Spinners, Adele, Kansas, Boston, Blur, Stereophonics, Manic Street Preachers, Take That, Mamas & Papas, Travis, Will Downing, Bon Jovi, U2, Newton Faulkner, Spice GIrls (Not a typo), Laura Izibor, Sara Barellis, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Example, Boyz II Men, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Shania Twain, Gnarls Barkley......

I could carry on for ages but you get the idea...I'm pretty eclectic bar most "Urban" Music

Rabid, I'm exactly the same and I try to choose nostalgia songs whenever possible on several forum games.

I'm another who doesn't really listen to recent music very much, apart from Bastille, Ellie Goulding and Lana Del Ray, and a few songs by Adele, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, et al now and again.

Aside from them, my favourites are The Smiths, Manic Street Preachers, The Libertines (obviously), Bloc Party, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Blondie, Oasis, Pulp, Fall Out Boy, Bon Iver....

Always Metallica, Evanescence and bands of the like.

I'm waiting for new stuff from System of a Down and Nightwish and I'm still hoping that Faith No More will have one more studio album in them, assuming they can make their reunions last longer than 6 months or so !! My all time favourite track is Midlife Crisis by Faith No More.

This has made me realise that I listen to a lot of the past X Factor contestants!

The 1975, The Vaccines, Jake Bugg, Demi Lovato, McFly (MCBUSTED!!), Ed Sheeran, Fall Out Boy, Katy Perry and i'm sure I could add many to this list.

What would be interesting would be if people also mentioned which was their favourite of this years acts to see if/how they correlate. Some I know (i.e. WHW is quite a prominent Samfan)

Luke Friend primarily.

But I wouldn't be opposed to Rough Copy winning. Good question to add on though
