I second the book as a Christmas present idea. You can always suggest puppy training classes for her too as a way for the dog to learn social skills with other dogs.

By all means, the OP should try and find a way to broach the subject of more suitable training with the mother sensibly, maybe through the boyfriend, but social services...please! I was clearly wrong. I apologise for misleading you into believing that I was being serious. Just to be absolutely clear - I do NOT advocate that anyone should contact social services. Much as I hate using smileys, I will make sure that I use the winking smiley next time I post anything similar. Possibly more than one of them; just to be sure. |
