From the first weekend of november we could try and plan something to watch for discussion the next week.

Obviously i suggest Gavin and Stacey special, we could leave wonderful life until December (i have actually never seen this). More suggestions welcome.

We would of course be dependent on people having access to programmes, and interest of course.”

I actually like the sound of this, it could be fun.

Trading Places is also one of my favourites to watch around Christmas.

there are some good TV movies if you open your heart and mind and let in the true spirit of the Christmas season

I completely agree.

I think this (Fisher-Price) is the first Christmas Ad albeit surreptitiously via Argos

Comments?”

Pfft - I saw an advert from one of those "start saving for a debt-free Christmas" commercials in September. For Christmas 2015.

Nice to have some interest. Love hearing everyone's christmas film/tv favourites. I agree with pretty much all of them. With three young'uns I just need more time to watch them all.

If people do want to do this Christmas telly club (arranging specific programmes/films to watch over a weekend for discussion the following week) please PM me your nominations of what you want put forward by the end of the October. I will then devise a 6 programme/film schedule to take us from 8th November to December 13. Plan would be to watch the given prog/film by the Sunday of the week, ready for 'water cooler' chat the following Monday onwards.

Send me your top three suggestions and I will try to please all as much as possible.

Look forward to getting your suggestions.

Hello Billy Value, I'd just like to remind you of the fact that both the Catholic and Anglican churches regard January the 6th as the end of Christmas. Therefore Christmas is by no means over on December the 26th, a point of view that me and Boyonthebridge share.

I am one of these people that hate seeing Christmas specials when it isn't Christmas. So for me a Christmas special is acceptable in the week leading up to Christmas day and even Boxing day, but not after. I usually go into work between Christmas and Hogmany, so my Christmas holidays have ended after the 27th. Then it is all about the lead up to Hogmany.

It actually says on the letter that if you cancel it just to let them know so they don't chase you. It may need to be in writing but nothing more.
This first issue was good but personally i'm okay with the layout of the listings. I'd rather it be focused on the evening than on the day. It's been like that in the Christmas double issue for a while so it doesn't bother me.”

I have just looked at my bank account and found that there is NO direct debit listed for the Radio Times.

Very strange!
No £1 first payment has been taken and I have now had 3 issues.

I wonder what they are up to?

What name / details is the DD listed as?

I will have a deeper look at my account again.

Just dug out my letter regarding the sub and payment will be taken on the 25th of this month.

No, but I'm baffled why the centre pages are 90 and 91 when the magazine only has 172 pages.

Just checked through mine and not all sheets are made up of four pages , for example pages 81 & 82 is a single sheet as are a couple of others.

Strangely, this actually sounds like it could be a great idea. I'm up for it. Let's get a list going.
