EastEnders and Corrie won't clash on Christmas Day.

They made EastEnders an hour to combat the first hour of Downton since 2011. Now with Downton Christmas specials being less popular since 2011, EastEnders collapsing last Christmas and Mrs Brown's Boys showing how popular it was last year. BBC1 aren't scheduling to accommodate Downton anymore.
To be honest, I don't know why people are so worried about programmes clashing anyway as people just record something that's on the other side while watching the other prgramme!

EE v Corrie certainly won't stick come next week. I imagine we'll see ITV more likely to shift Corrie than BBC to shift EE because the EE-Miranda-EE-MBB line-up could work very well for EE. The two comedies will perform well whether they're paired together or apart. I'd say they're going to revise the schedule to...

BBC One
15:10 FILM: Madagascar 3 (fits the TBA timeslot)
16:45 BBC News
17:00 Strictly Come Dancing
18:15 Call The Midwife
19:30 Doctor Who [I think they'll switch around because the same happened last year + it's been airing in a late slot this series]
20:30 EastEnders
21:00 Miranda
21:35 EastEnders
22:05 Mrs Brown's Boys
22:40 Michael McIntyre's Christmas Show

ITV
16:20 You've Been Framed
17:20 Paul O'Grady: For The Love of Dogs
18:20 Emmerdale
19:20 ITV News
19:30 Coronation Street
20:30 Downton Abbey
I think Madagascar 3 is a terribly weak film for the post-Queen slot. The Muppets or Puss in Boots is much more appealing for Christmas Day. Madagascar is OK, but it's no Shrek!

Forget Madagascar 3....stick on Muppet Christmas Carol, I don't care how much the rights cost, it's worth every penny.

Thats what the Mirror article said that the Shrek franchise had always done well for BBC One on Christmas Day and thats why they are showing Puss in Boots

Another film not mentioned in the press pack is Mars needs Moms

I will like to show you my BBC One prediction of the network premieres for December 2017 and they are include;

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
Guardians of the Galaxy
The Good Dinosaur
The Day After Tomorrow
Rome Total War (my first feature film after being online in 2015)
What the heck? The Day After Tomorrow has been on network TV loads of times (Film 4 methinks). And by the way ITV, no Bond again after Queen's Speech this year? I know Skyfall is too 'adult' for an afternoon slot, but a light-hearted Moore romp would have done nicely.

Surely, The whole idea of Christmas TV is (A) It is family orientated, and (B) It is a special Christmas edition.

Eastenders takes up primetime on Christmas evening but falls into neither category

It is the same old depressing storylines of murder/rape/violence/domestic abuse/and on and on it goes. Is this really suitable Christmas Viewing? No it is not. I know it has millions of viewers but that does not mean it should be shown on Christmas day (and let’s face it many, of these millions, will watch anything that is put in front of them). Sadly for millions in this country, the afore mentioned issues are real life experiences. Perhaps Christmas Day is the one day they can try to forget about these horrors? No chance, not with any let up from the BBC in sight. I think it’s disgusting that this is shown on Christmas Night.

But where is the drama in watching characters sitting down enjoying their dinner singing carols going to church opening presents slumping in front of the TV

I read somewhere that the BBC One controller told EastEnders bosses she did not want a gloomy edition on Christmas Day this year

I agree with your opinion about EE being depressing, however as long as the viewing figures hold up well every Christmas then I don't think there's any chance of BBC1 not showing it on the big day. Some vieweres may actually appreciate the portrayal of its "gritty" issues even on Christmas Day, particularly if they are going through something similar themselves.

Too depressing for me though!! I'll be chuckling along to Mrs Browns Boys instead Yes, I know it's an acquired taste and old-fashioned but then so is Christmas pudding.

Christmas Eve ITV provisional schedule

(no point in posting BBC1 as doesn't show much yet!)

Spoiler
Wow. That's pretty poor. ITV have all but given up with that schedule.

True. As much as I like the Dudley Moore Santa Claus film, years ago it would have been an 11am movie while in the afternoon something more high-profile (and modern) would be shown, like a Harry Potter film

Don't forget folks that any listings are provisional and still subject to change until they are confirmed on Tuesday.

Star Wars in the past has been in ITV.
Guardians of the Galaxy, hasn't Channel 4 had the Marvel Super Heros franchisr? As Guardians is part of the Avengers 2 set of films would imagine it is part of a bundle.
Bond I thought was wit ITV.

ITV[s job SELL advertising space.

To be honest ITV want to get the viewers up to Dec 23rd, thus get the advertisers.

Have the provisional listings suggested when the top gear christmas specials will be shown?
