So this year's Christmas Radio Times Countdown Thread had 1851 posts, 340 more than last year but views were slightly down with 221,227.

2008 - 520 posts, 65,241 views.
2009 - 1162 posts, 170,036 views.
2010 - 950 posts, 154,942 views.
2011 - 1084 posts, 168,546 views.
2012 - 1434 posts, 208,702 views.
2013 - 1511 posts, 234,551 views.
2014 - 1851 posts, 221,227 views.

I wonder what 2015's total will be.

With just a couple of hours left of the Christmas Radio Times left, I think this thread has come to its natural end.

The tree, lights and decorations are down, the living room and dining room are looking bare and dull and the programmes covered in the RT are all but done.

Just a few final thoughts on the Christmas RT and the telly over the last couple of weeks.

I don't think I have watched less tv over Christmas and new year as I did this year.

The Christmas RT is the only one I buy all year, so price isn't really an issue for me and I will no doubt buy it next year also. In all honesty though, I buy it more as a tradition than as something to use during the two weeks it is relevant. As in most of the last few years I read it the night I buy it, noting a few things that I would look to watch, and then put it down, hardly to pick it up again. And I watched very little of the things I thought I would. So now it goes up to the bedside book shelves to join the past 11 years worth of Christmas RT's that I have.

Still not convinced of that front cover.

Anyway, so long The Official Christmas Radio Times 2014 Countdown Thread, it has been fun over the past 12 months. I have not been on the 2015 thread yet, so will move over there now.

See you all there.

Pretty similar to my thoughts of Christmas 2014.

See you on the 2015 thread. The year will definitely fly by

Thanks to all the posters who make this thread what it is. I don't post much but I visit regularly. As this is the last day covered by the Christmas RT I'll now move over to the 2015 thread and see what you've all been up to. Happy New Year!

I will have a tear in my eye when I put the magazine away tomorrow as Christmas is now officially over

my tree etc stays up until 12th night but the RT is on the floor battered, creased and missing its cover. So in the bin it goes. For the first time this year I bought a second copy to keep and I'll keep an eye out for old Xmas issues from bygone years. I regret not starting a collection sooner.

Xmas telly was OK this year but only that. Luckily i'm happy with repeats of classic sitcoms, late night Hitchcock films, other Christmas classics etc but new content was in short supply. As TV audiences fragment and ratings slide my fear is that the future may not resemble the past at all and our Xmas TV rituals, including the RT, may fade away. So all the more reason to enjoy it while it lasts. Here's to the 2015 issue!
