another great radio update in the US today: 42.603 million audience (+ 1.348m!)
They're #16 in the pop radio airplay chart, might get to #15 very soon, that would be as high as One Thing got. However, SOML has higher audiences on the other radio formats, so it's already their second biggest radio song in the US.

Some midweek numbers (up to the end of business on Monday):

singles:
1. Lily Allen 16k
2. Ellie Goulding 10k
3. Leona Lewis 9.4k
4. Bastille 9k
5. One Direction (sales unknown)

albums:
1. One Direction 28.4k
2. Robbie Williams 28.15k (250 copies behind!)
3. Gary Barlow 22k
4. Olly Murs
5. Michael Bublé (Christmas album) 20k
6. Leona Lewis 10.3k

--> Hope for a top 5 position in the singles chart. Gary Barlow (who is somewhere behind them) has been catching up ever since his Royal Variety performance last night. He's ahead of SOML if you combine his two versions.
--> Another week at #1 for MM would be fantastic! I expected Robbie to be #1 by now, since he had his TV special last Friday, which must have lead to huge weekend sales. So I'm surprised MM is still ahead. They might pull ahead even more during the week, we'll see. But it could go either way. However, next week they should get back to #1, or certainly ahead of Robbie, as they have the X Factor performance on Sunday! Maybe Bublé's Christmas album gets #1, even though it's in its third year already... Who knows

The British public seem to love Christmas albums a lot more than people here in Switzerland do, I'm always amazed each year

By the way, has anybody noticed that the SOML version on the radio is slightly edited (shortened)?! I've always thought the second verse was shorter than what I was used to from listening to it on my computer (youtube), but I only now realised they cut Liam's solo in the second verse. Right after Niall's solo comes Louis' pre-chorus.

Am I late to notice? Or is this news to all of you?

I don't listen to the radio (well I kind of can't, my car's antenna is broken...), so I didn't understand the rant about cutting Liam's solo...
