Gr8 updates!!....Don't think it will remain in the top 5 by Sunday cos Avicii has been gaining momentum so he could topple it out. But then again, SOML might stay in the top 5 if it remains above Bastille on itunes. Still gr8 tho, i reckon it has hopefully one more week to spend in the top 10( which will make it 8!! )

Apparently Louis and Harry went shopping today. A few people saying it's not Louis but circling the man standing next to Harry whereas I thought it was Louis who was looking closer at the shoes? It looks like him from behind imo like his hair is quite long now. Anyways here's the pic...

Also apparently the boys landed in Spain and are performing on the voice tomorrow to be aired on the 18th.

Oops, I mixed up Avicii and Bastille (how could I...). Avicii is already ahead of them, he's the one who is on #4 in the midweeks, might overtake Ellie and potentially also Leona.
Bastille is somewhere behind SOML, so it could stay this way, even though they're now exactly in the same position on itunes.

On the one hand: I think JA has been generally unpleasant towards a lot of people, and haughty about his place in the music world compared to other X factor acts (I don't see it as a marketing strategy & an act, but I know some of you will disagree)... So I am glad to see someone stick up for 1D!

On the other hand: I think people need to move on from this & forget JA exists if they don't like him, & go on liking him if they do... cause everything that needed to be said on the topic has been said (and moooore...).

Exactly! That's why I wanted to post it. I don't believe for a second that they are not friends anymore. Also one of their security retweeted a tweet that was like "retweet if Harry and Louis are still as close as they used to be". So yeah I definitely don't think theirs a rift.

It seems that people can make up whatever rumour about Lorde now (because she made the mistake of"slating" 2 or 3 pop stars at the beginning of her career which was probably not her best idea)...

I have seen some horrible fake quote about Demi Lovato that is spreading https://twitter.com/ilymcdonalds/sta...720768/photo/1, and too many people seem to just believe this sort of "quotes" and don't even need a source or any sort of proof before they start hating and lashing out.

I have no clue how they could go about that, but I think there should be some sort of educational program about how to behave decently on the Internet (and not to believe everything we read!).

Twitter rumour that the boys are to guest star in Glee next year.

UAN dropped to #4 in its second week (55k, down from 176k in the first week; -69%), but managed to stay top 10 for 22 out of the first 23 weeks!!
It never got higher than #4 though after the first week... However, in its 4th week, sales increased to over 90k (after their first SNL performance)

TMH dropped to #3 on 176k sales (-67%, but that was the Black Friday week... Without that "effect", the drop might have been sharper). In its 3rd week, it was down to 92k (-48%). So that was over 800k after 3 weeks!

--> If the manage to sell about the same amount this week or a little more (100-120k), they would almost equal TMH, but not quite. I think it's safe to say that in the US, TMH had a stronger start, but I also have a feeling their popularity was on a higher level in the US a year ago. They haven't quite managed to create enough interest outside their fan base. In the UK, they seem to have gotten a wider appeal in the last few months.

I agree with you about the appeal being about the same or slightly lower in the US for now. I hope that their SNL performance (that seems to have been well received) & SOML actually getting good airplay (wich means people & radios must like it) will help change that!

I was on an American board last week on a thread for SNL and most were there for Paul Rudd but were very impressed with 1D both vocally and songs

I don't think he was disinterested at all - why would he? He arguably is the one who's most invested in seeing this album succeed since he seems to have the most involvement in making it. They worked hard for this album - making it on the road when they were so busy that Liam said he sometimes had to choose whetehr to eat or go to the gym and yet they still made the effort to get much more involved from writing to mixing it. I think they were very nervous - they're trying to expand their fanbase and appeal to a more mature audience and SNL is an important but tough platform to do so - its audience are adults who tend to look down on acts like them. I think they picked TTD to show their more mature side and that they can actually sing. The song is called Through The Dark - not exactly a jumping for joy kind of song anyway. I think they were more focused on giving a good vocal performance and I think they did exactly that - and if Louis needed to stare at the ceiling to do it then so be it. Liam who's usually the most consistent singer - his voice shook, Zayn flubbed the lyrics and Niall's hand was shaking (Harry had no solo).
