They were not in the normal film.
I haven't seen the fan cut, so I don't know what was added there.

I wasn't talking about the way Harry handles intrusive media questions - I agree w/ you that he handles them very very well - he deflects and throws them back at their face w/out losing his composure and charms. For instance, I have no problems at all w/ the way he answered GQ outrageous questions even if he wasn't being truthful - GQ didn't deserve it anyway. Their private lives are nobody's business - I have no problem w/ however they choose to handle intrusive questions and am certainly not expecting them to share w/ the public at all.

But there's a big difference between being protective about your private live and being actively disingenuous about it. There's no question that they're sexually active and there's nothing wrong w/ that as long as it's consensual. They sleep around and there used to be tons of stories of them rating fans at M&G based on their looks. These aren't unusual behaviors at all for young males - they have sex on the brain like 90% of the time LOL. But Harry's actively promoting the idea that they're not like that w/ his constant 'we don't objectify women' (he chastised Niall when he mentioned a character he liked w/ 'he objectifies women, Niall!' for example) or saying that 'twerking promotes promiscuity' etc. This is coming from the guy who told Matt Cardle to think of how much pussies he'd get And when they were asked by fans at a soundcheck if they were ass or boobs guy, the other boys each picked one but Harry went into his Miss America Pageant contestant mode and said 'I'm a personality kinda guy' Yeah sure Harry when you pick girls to hook up w/ you go by their personalities LOL

Harry is very media savvy - by far the most of the bunch - he's constantly aware of how his acts will affect his image, IMO sometimes overly so that he comes across as disingenuous to me.

I think that you are overlooking the time factor that I was highlighting: a 16 to 17 year old over-enthousiastic boy new to the game, and a 20 year old pop star who has gone through a lot more experiences (some pretty bad ones too I'm pretty sure in regard to the press & fan scrutiny) and has grown up are not exactly the same people IMO.
Both the Matt Cardle thing and the hook up with fans rumours (and the phone call with the fans that you linked) happened quite some time ago, when everything was still new to them.

And I have no problem with Harry keeping it cleaner or not wanting to talk about whether is is an ass or boob man. If he realises that his mom or dad or grand parents (or younger kids even) might watch the interviews, and it leads him to a certain behaviour & it's fine with me. I suppose to certain people it might seem disingenous. To me it just seems like someone who wants to keep more things private than the fans would like (which I have no issue with) & someone who realises just how far his words can reach.
I personally find some of those PC answers very charming, especially the way he delivers them, but I understand that some might not
I think Harry gives an insight into the kind of person he is (he is a nice guy, he isn't confrontational but he seems smart, patient & able to deal with pretty tough situations). However, he doesn't want to share certain things, either because, like you think, he is too media trained, or because, like I think, he doesn't want to over-share (for whatever reason).

Harry is almost 20 & has a private life that I don't think we know anything about (we didn't even realise that he was "homeless" & crashing at friends untill Spurlock mentioned it).
Since the problem seems to be his private life and the fact that he doesn't chose to share anything about it: maybe he hooks up with many girls based on their looks solely, maybe he just has regular sex-friends based on their looks (and personality?), maybe he really is a lot less active than we imagine... Fact is we don't know & we assume, just like the gossip outlets.

And I find it unfair that Niall's happy-go-lucky "I don't have any GF and haven't for 3 years" isn't probed quite as much by fans as Harry's private life. But like ImperfectPearl said, Niall seems to be in this bubble, and the fans seem to somehow think he can do practically no wrong. Not that I think he is doing anything wrong BTW, but the difference in expectations about being forthcoming about their private lives irks me.

Harry likes older women so no doubt he'll be there, unless he'll be enjoying Grimmy's company instead.

There's also another part of the equation to Harry and that is everyone who meets him says what a well mannered boy he is. I think we have his mother to thank for that. He may well be media trained but considering the stuff he gets thrown at him it really is a good thing. I would imagine they have all been media trained as seen by their early interview answers which were all about how grateful they were for the opportunity etc.....that is standard X factor fodder but three years later they are now very much on their own.

I would also imagine that pussygate taught Harry a big lesson and makes him more cautious then the others. He's no doubt scared to get another huge bollocking from his mother

Just caught up with the Italian interview and great to see the boys back on form but why do they pick on Harry when he is the most sensitive. OK I know it was a daft answer .....going to meetings* but even so they all jumped on him. Funny I feel Louis only talks to him in interviews when he is putting him down

I don't know why people look so much into the boys personal lives sometimes it can really uncomfortable to watch them answer questions on certain things sometimes like the Larry thing.
I think why Harrys life is looked at so much is because of 2 reasons, 1 is the Caroline flack thing which sparked peoples interest in his love life the second was the whole sleeping with the married DJ {which I thought the press were pretty unfair to Harry as it takes two to tango} Before any of those things happened the only person love life who was in the papers was Zayns{because of Rebecca Ferguson} but when the Flack thing came along the papers latched onto that. Liam and Louis love life's are not really written about because they have normal{non celebrity} girlfriends and most people Harry is linked to are other celebs so their is bound to be more interest
I don't think the people Harry hangs around with help with the press intrusion as most of them are celebs too and I still find it strange that he doesn't seem to hang out with friends he had before Xfactor. And the whole Niall being 3 years single isn't really true, I've never heard him say hes been single for the whole 3 years, hes only ever said if he was single at the time he was asked the question to which we replied to at that time not over the 3 years. I think most fans know he has had a girlfriend but never admitted it{maybe he waned to keep it private or maybe he was afraid of backlash from fans and twitter trolls etc attacking the girl} and I think his love life is starting to be probed more as most people seem to think hes going out with that model girl and I think Niall does live in a kind of bubble which I think is good as he hasn't really done anything wrong and it may be his way of dealing with things and it seems to be working so far

I agree that Harry seems to have very good manners, that seems to be something that's striking to a lot of people that meet him.
He probably has dealt with saying the wrong thing in public much earlier and has learned from it pretty fast


I suppose that you are right about the Caroline-Harry thing sparking interest in his private life early on... That and the DJ thing (as well as the fact that he was advertised as the biggest flirt of the group from the start) probably is why people scrutinise every girl he stands next to as a possible hook up/GF. I still think it's up to the fans to stop eating up all the gossip (reading it & believing it all) & to stop taking it all so seriously -just like the solo career rumours.

I agree that Niall hasn't done anything wrong, he is a lovely boys who has a right to privacy. It's the difference in treatement towards all the boys & their expectations from them that annoys me.
They say that they want all the boys to be treated the same way by everyone (the press, the fans...), they might as well lead by example.

I agree and seems to be the same for every song. I suppose they really don't have much time to practice more beforehand. It is also great to see them back to their old selves, all happy and engaged. Now I realise all the bad videos was them probably just dog tired
