According to reports on Twitter the boys have been filming their next music video already for the song Night Changes. Harry was being filmed on an ice rink yesterday and the other boys have already been doing some filming too.

Yes! Exciting news, I hope its radio release is by 17th Nov so they can perform it at the Universal Studios event. The video sounds fun, I wonder what the other boys' segments are.
Very happy about the Scott Mills interview. He knows the boys and takes care to ask Zayn questions and stop the other boys interrupting him. Perhaps they'll announce when the first instant grat is coming out.

Agreed, he looks damn good. I'm hoping he was just going through some growing pains this year and next tour he'll be lively and pretty again. I'm relieved he's sorted it out in time for album promo, he really didn't look great at the Brits.
Love his and Harry's grown up styling, Caroline's come up trumps. Can't wait to see what she's got Zayn and Niall in.

They are fading, numbers don't lie.
But are they really doing anything to stop that from happening? Not really. That's what baffles me. They did promo in the previous years (for the movie, for the albums, even for the 1st singles for UAN & TMH I think), we are still waiting this time around... Let's hope things will kick off soon!

But as Andi posted in his excellent post numbers are down all over and their promo is just starting. Watch this space but I do agree they now have competition with the Vamps and 5sos and 1975

I just hope that they'll do well enough tbh. And I hope that the promo & new single will have a positive effect on album sales (which are what matters).

I agree with you: It's not like anyone could really be expected to sustain their (album) sales level forever, so the figures were/are bound to get lower indeed. The boys have already had a good run compared to many groups, but I still hope for them that they can last a bit longer

Well, as long as they "just" need to release a music video and some tweets in order to get a top 3 in the UK and even some sustained chart position (rising back into the top 10 this week), why should they do more?
But from what we've heard in the last few days, things are surely about to chance promo-wise: Scott Mills interview tomorrow, BBC music awards performance, AMA performance, Children in Need performance, X Factor performance(s), Universal Orlando day, probably some performances around Europe etc.
--> So from now until almost Christmas, they will be quite busy. I'm actually glad they took the time off since the end of the tour. It's not even been a month...

It's how you define fading though? Fading to me is having an album and single peaking at number 30 and not selling out a tour. Neither of which is happening. If they were really fading they wouldn't have sold out most dates of a stadium tour?

To be fair, the question in that thread is "is the hype STARTING to fade?"... But of course, at one point there were always going to be signs of less hype

For me the weaker sales this era is primarily due to lack of promo, alongside poor single choices. The boys are not as engaged with One Direction as they used to be. Neither are their team, the latest tour announcement was pretty much via tweets. I'd like them to reach beyond their twitter base. Four promo seems to be starting this week though with the video filming, R1 interview and the mysterious book signing tomorrow (which could poss be album listening party). Who knows what's planned for next week, perhaps they'll do something for audiences/fans outside UK and US.
