I know. He's so beautiful. I have the 1D calendar for Christmas and Zayn's January. I think it's going to be January for the whole of 2015 lol.

Perrie's beautiful too. They're going to have super attractive kids.

Haha. He is. I've got the calendar too....am a Liam fan mostly but they're all lovely in their own ways. Any month suits me....

They are going to be unspeakably gorgeous kids.

Yeah. Normally, most boy bands have one or two not very good looking ones. 1D are all gorgeous cuties.

Been away for a week... Some (late) numbers from last Sunday's charts:

singles:
#13 (down 5) Night Changes, selling around 35k, total now about 164k (silver this week? certainly next week!)
#14 (up 1) Steal My Girl, selling about the same amount, now at around 388k (definitely gold this week, even though it's going to fall, as it's only around #30 on itunes)

albums:
#6 FOUR: sold another 75.463 copies (up about 1k from last week), total now 501,344

After being the #1 selling album of 2013, Midnight Memories is still in the top 40 of the best selling albums in 2014 (#39), FOUR is at #7.
This year has seen two very strong albums at the top end of the charts (Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith, both selling over a million, Sheeran almost 1.7 million!!). 685k (MM's numbers in 2013) would have been enough (but only just) for #3 this year.

None of their songs in the top 40 of 2014...

Edit: SMG is at #43 in the official year-end top 100. Not too bad for a song released in October

Welcome here Feel free to contribute Leona is my favourite ever X Factor winner, let's hope for more success this year, new album and everything. The snippet she posted on facebook a couple of weeks ago sounded very promising!

Happy New Year to you. FOUR is not doing too bad at all for a fourth album, still in the top 10. Hopefully, they will release more singles to keep it in the top 20 for a while, at least.

Today's charts:

#19: Night Changes
#21: Steal My Girl (out of the top 15 for the first time after 11 weeks --> a new record for them! Should also be certified gold this week, it only need to sell a little over 10k)

#9 FOUR (itunes special offer and google play's 99p-offer didn't help a lot...).

Great numbers for Four I think. Do wonder what the next single will be. They haven't confirmed it yet have they? I adore Fireproof so very much but don't think it'll be that and maybe Where do Broken Hearts Go will be best or Girl Almighty is so upbeat too.

I'd go with any song off the album really (Fools Gold is magic but perhaps another ballad not the best idea).

Mind you, a video for No Control would be interesting...

Yes, Louis and his loaded gun.

The next single is supposed to be Ready to Run. Although it hasn't been made official yet. I think you can count Fireproof out as it was given away as a free single last year before the album came out.

NC sold another 25k --> total now 189k

Good news
I think that we are now entering the low sales month(s) in the UK when it comes to music, aren't we?

Yes. January music sales are usually pretty bad. November and December are the best months. More music sold than the first 10 months put together!!

Would be brilliant!! But isn't it only held every other year? Next time would be 2016... 2015 should be another Comic Relief year, like 2013, when they did OWOA.

Just checked and you're right. It's Comic Relief this year.

Some UK numbers for One Direction's first three albums (up until end of 2014):

Up All Night: 1.086k (sold another 55k in 2014)
Take Me Home: 968k (sold another 62k in 2014)
Midnight Memories: 843.500 (sold 158.500 copies in 2014)

So if TMH sells 32k more copies (which is possible, as UAN sold 55k in its 3rd year), it will be their second million seller.
If MM sells 57k more copies (again, entirely possible, since TMH sold 62k in its second year), it will be their third "triple platinum" album.
UAN would need to sell another 114k to become their first 4x platinum album in the UK, that's unlikely though in the next few years.
FOUR should easily be 2x platinum (600k) in the next few weeks ("only" 74k missing).
