I love *irony* how people have such strong opinions about things they don't know anything about.
It's not as if you really understand it unless you feel that way... |

Hmmm. Loads of pics of Harry taking pics with fans today on twitter. I starting to think the stories about him being rude yesterday were all made up. He's such a lovely guy.

I hope SOML manages to get to #1 this weekend. I'm liking their more mature sound. I think what a lot of people on the main forum don't realise is that their popularity stretches way beyond teenage girls.
Also don't forget to vote for your favourite XF singles (1D or otherwise) in this thread: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1917741 ![]() i'm glad you're liking their sound now... didn't stop you though from dragging their name when it was said in MF that rough copy doesn't harmonize and said "that didn't stop 1D" complete with *roll eyes*... oh, yeah, i replied that you must miss the roll eyes emoji ![]() ETA i've also already voted in your thread much, much earlier... |

I find it really strange that people are so convinced Taylor was PR. He made it pretty known how into her he was before they started dating/went public. I also doubt this is just for PR. You can date celebrities and use it for PR, without actually being with them just for the PR, if that makes sense. Whoever he was with, it would get loads of attention, just because of who he is. I don't get this absolute insistence that if two celebrities date it has to be PR.

The tumblr girls are really creative and inventive.
Apparently 7th Dec 2011 was Haroline 7th Dec 2012 was Haylor and now 7th Dec 2013 is Hendall *I can't hendall this I need an inHaylor or some Haroline* ![]() And all applying for Dec 2014 to be Harry's PR girl ![]() It really does take the biscuit when you see it like this Management must think we are all daft! The thing is in trying to prove that they've savvier than the press and don't just buy any old rubbish, people actually end up going in the opposite direction and turn everything into a conspiracy theory, and deny anything can be true. Both are equally as ridiculous in my opinion. |

who knows what goes on in the minds of teenage girls? maybe it's a sort of defence mechanism-- it's better to convince oneself that it was a PR stunt than endure the pain of admitting to oneself that another celebrity (eg taylor) is living one's dream/fantasy of being with one's object of desire...

Well fair enough, but it also seems to be a popular opinion on here. Like really what's so strange about these relationships being in December - when their year in winding down, they're no longer on tour, and he has much more free time. People see conspiracies everywhere these days!
i think the point of the post is the ridiculousness of putting an annual date (is it 7 dec?) for those dates when-- as provided with proof-- they happened, yes, in those years, but not exactly on the exact date they wanted them to fall...

It really suited the show they were on. Thought all the boys were superb singing it, especially Liam, and Niall really looked like he was enjoying himself.

Here are some videos from SNL last night.
Intro- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcLh...e_gdata_player Skit- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xx4y...e_gdata_player SOML- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EaYl...e_gdata_player Through The Dark- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZWg...e_gdata_player I really like TTD live, I think all of them sounded great. SOML was another strong performance imo. I'm glad they didn't sing BSE again. The little skit and intro made me laugh.

I think that Haylor probably was both a relationship & a great PR coup. They spent too much time together (she came to England) for to just have been a buzz generating fake relationship. Their management would have encouraged it, but I remember Taylor had expressed interest months before, so I think it was a happy coincidence for their PR team. For Kendall & Harry: for now, considering that the album has just been released and 1D is in promo mode, I lean towards PR (they seem to have gone out of their way to be seen 2 times). But of course we could be wrong

He is looking pretty rough and eyes look quite dead. I hope it isn't what I think it is

Some fans seem to have decided that Harry can't sing his part well in SOML, but I just don't hear it like that. They were all on point. Maybe it's his expression when he sings that makes them think it's hard & he is straining instead of being effortless... I love his energy, but maybe that's something they could work on, so that people stop looking for imperfection. I love that they sang Through the Dark, and it was really good too! It seems they chose to showcase their "folky" side there, I hope it will entice people to check out the album! The skits were OK too, but I hope that the rest was funnier for Paul. I found the older fan who was winding up the other fans quite accurate in some of the things he said (don't you know your facts?). Overall, they made me smile rather than laugh. |

Sorry if I offended you, but I honestly wasn't criticising 1D in that thread. The *rolls eyes* was for the poster, who seemed to be under the illusion that to be a group, you have to harmonise, which is completely untrue. Very few UK groups harmonise so I was just saying that 1D have been extremely successful without it, so harmonising isn't essential.
Actually I have nearly all of 1D's singles (apart from OWOA) and I think they make really good pop music, so I definitely wasn't hating on them. My apologies once again if I offended you. ![]() ![]() So I don't know what harmonizing is technically... Is it when at least 2 people sing together: -the same note not at the same hight, -or not the same note? I thought that they did some harmonizing personally... Was I wrong and is it only a really nice "unison"? I wouldn't care either way cause I like the songs and the way they sing them, but I am wondering... |

The skit not so much... |

Option 2 is correct. Not the same note, but those different notes should be within a certain harmony
Otherwise it sounds just completely off key ![]() Quote:
A harmony is when two or more notes are heard simultaneously, but these notes should blend together. I'm not sure how to describe it, but if you listen to Little Mix, they harmonise. I've personally not heard 1D harmonise (and neither do most UK groups) but they may have done and I've just not picked it up. Seeing as most UK groups don't harmonise, (which isn't a bad thing), I was just using that to explain to a poster on another thread that you don't have to harmonise to be a group, which was the suggestion they had put forward on that thread.
![]() ![]() I know what you mean about LM, I quite like it. I thought the boys harmonized in songs like Summer love or Moments (the slower ones), but maybe I am wrong and it's just a really lovely "unison" cause their voices are all quite different. |

I don't think the harmonising is very "in your face" in their performances, it just blends nicely with the song. It's nice to finally know what it is, I wonder why I have relied on a too vague notion until now.
