Greg, Niall's brother tweeted that he didn't know anything about it. Whether that means it is a load of rubbish or he just doesn't know.

Well they have the stadium tour and the fourth album next year so I doubt it. There are so many of these rumours all the time which have been denied various times. But then obviously we have no idea about what is really happening behind the scenes so who knows?

And it seems like a lot of them he is a fake!!

I've been seeing rumours on twitter that the MM video will be out on January 11th. Not sure if that's true or not, I thought it sounded a bit too soon. However it's a day after my birthday so if it's true it can be a late present. Lol.

Not that I advocate any of them leaving the group. But I don't see anything wrong with the boys doing the occasional side project. Why can't one of them do a duet? Do a guest vocal on a track? Why can't one of them do a guest appearance on a TV show if they want to dabble in acting? Or take a modelling gig?

Doing some independent stuff doesn't mean they are breaking up. They don't have to do EVERYTHING together professionally.

I get what you mean. I think the only thing is if one of them does something separately you're bound to get everyone thinking they'll be splitting up within the fanbase but also majorly in the media IMO.

As well as this you may get the problem of "if he's doing something on his own then I want to too" amongst the actual band.

If Modest Management were smart, they would ENCOURAGE side projects. I don't know if anyone here is familiar with K-Pop. There is an insanely popular boy band called "Big Bang" that have been around since their teens. They are in their early twenties now. Every single one of them have put out a solo project. Even formed sub-units within the group. And they STILL make music as a group and tour as a group. Their agency is making money hand over fist by letting each member do their own thing. One of them even acts on the side. It hasn't hurt the groups popularity ONE BIT.

I agree that letting the boys spread their wings individually could help them feel less caged, and it could help the group with longevity this way. I think that it's too bad that the fans will probably not allow them this freedom (and, in a way, a form of individuality outside 1D), they are not just 1/5 of 1D.
Of course the press & some fans would jump on the theory that it's a crack in the 1D cell, but if the boys really enjoy the 1D experience, get along together & don't feel trapped in it all, I can see how it could help them last longer.
I also don't see one big ego/personality rise from the group (from an outsider perspective, I could be wrong of course), so maybe it could work in their favour instead of splitting them.

Liam was in the recording studio with Jamie Scott last night. Expect he may have started writing with him for the next album.

I can't see how it would work to be honest. Right now the band are so popular and busy they can't fit in promo so can't see how they would fit time for side projects. Certainly not right now. McFly all did side projects last year but they are on a different level right now and certainly couldn't have done it at the height of their fame.

On a side note I see from the show bus forum that Matt Cardle has entered rehab for prescription drugs which is very sad. It makes me wonder how these 5 young lads will last playing the fame game unscathed. I do hope so as they all say they have each other to keep them grounded. Must be so much lonelier on your own.

I don't know who that is, sorry. I would just feel a bit wary about individual projects mainly like I said because of accusations and assumptions that they would be splitting. Right now One Direction are arguably the biggest current band in the world and I just don't think one member going off to do solo songs would be good idea. Presenting roles and things like that are different but regarding making music I'm not so sure.

I hope that the boys will keep their feet on the ground and not go the Bieber route. There is always a chance, but I truly hope that their family & professional entourage as well as the boys will do their best so that it won't happen.

Makes me worried about the boys too (though he was more alone than the boys & his career was somewhat struggling, being in the limelight is always stressfull & can lead to certain unhealthy behaviours).

There might not be time now. But maybe after the stadium tour. Give them a break. Who cares about the rumors. There are rumors about break ups even when they're together 24/7. Hell, just enjoy the free press. Fans are gonna fret about something or another no matter what they do.

I disagree. They are having a lot of time off it seems now. Management have got that sorted and I feel it would be a big mistake to do any sort of solo project until at least the end of their present contract in 2016. Media and fans would turn it into an inevitable competition and things would get ugly which might then result in one or another wanting more prominence in the group if they were more successful solo or maybe not wanting to return to the group at all in the same way Justin Timberlake made his break from N-Sync a permanent one. It just all creates needless problems. Why rock an extremely successful boat needlessly? Just my own opinion though.
