Glad they didn't know the "best music fans", Directioners can really be terrible!!

What a shame they're releasing MM as their next single though... In the eyes of these so called "gatekeepers" at the radio station, that song will definitely be a step back

I hope that they'll release more than 3 singles. I think they have good enough material for that (like you, I'm not sure about MM), and while the singles might not all sell as well as SOML, it would help the album long term if they choose good singles.
"Through the Dark" would make a great 4th single, I think it could do great on the radio (since the subject matter in "Happily" seems to make it less appropriate -though IMO it is one of the catchiest song of their album with just the right style at the right time).
I suppose a 5th single might be an overkill with an act that releases an album per year, but "Diana" is sooo catchy that I think it would please pop lovers.

I agree with Andi about the music fans thing
They can really be a pain...

But I don't really like Katy Perry's video for Roar... I don't know who else was nominated, but I prefer BSE's video for sure.

Great news!!

Does anyone know which category will be fan voted? There is only 1 usually, isn't there?

If the categories are not fan voted, I don't think 1D stand a chance tbh
I would love to be proven wrong though

The boys are actually possibly going to be expected to win two awards that they haven't been announced as nominated for yet. Best Global Success based on international sales and Best British Video based on Youtube views but voted by the public on the night of the Brits.

I'd love Through The Dark to be the fourth single if they release one. I think it is one of the best tracks on the album and they performed it well live on SNL. I prefer TTD to Happily. I also think that Does He Know is extremely catchy! I love it although I know it wouldn't be a single seeing as it's only on the deluxe version.

Haha, it is really nice! When my friend gave it to me it didn't click but then she explained the One Direction connection and I googled it when I got home. Very happy with it!

That's good news
More chance of an actual win!
I kind of love their "drunk" speaches & post-win interviews

Though it will give the Brit comity even less incentive to consider them seriously for best group I suppose... Not that I am expecting much from this category anyway.

I think they have a chance with best group. Look at the nominees:

British Group

Disclosure
One Direction
Rudimental
Arctic Monkeys
Bastille

I don't think you can really deny that 1D kind of outshine all of them in terms of success but then again we know the brits tend to be pretty snobby.

With Best British Single I always thought it was fan voted. I'm a bit annoyed that it's One Way Or Another instead of Story Of My Life. I think it would've been better to have an original song as opposed to a cover. Plus the receptions the two songs received are on different ends of the spectrum obviously with SOML doing superb. (I know OWOA went to number 1 but outside of the fanbase a lot of people didn't like the cover).

Not going to happen. They are the outsiders in the group. Can't call this, but definitely not 1D. Three of those groups were nominated for the Mercury award I believe.

I agree:
They have nominated 1D because of their great sales & the fact that they are hard to ignore, but I don't think they have ever been considered as real contenders in this category.

I know but I still think they deserve it.

I'm being delusionally optimistic.

lolz!! the brits really want to have it both ways, don't they? they want a public vote for the Best British Video but hasn't given out the mechanics yet and the voting will be on the Night!! lolz!! are they counting on the directioners having short attention span and not wait out til the night to ensure another win for the boys? as youngsters say-- va-e-vah!!

I don't think SOML was in the time frame hence OWOA

This. They're much more likely to win the fan voted ones.
