I can see what Rawr mean with the lazy diction.
I have already said in the past that I can't fault Zayn's voice but wish he could try to put a bit more energy (or "oomph", I like that!) to his singing. I also find him more and more R'n'B in his singing: Doesn't he seem to add little runs more often? yeah... agree with everything here...

Flicked over to Capital fm and of course they are number 1 on the Vodafone big top 40.
![]() Could it actually be possible for SOML to go to number 1 next week though? Considering it was the fact that Lilly Allen's physical copies were released this week which boosted her up. They are still 1 on iTunes aren't they? |

and the sales are in! And another 194,000 for the album and Lily won the singles battle by 6000 copies but doesn't say what 1D got
I don't think they will get 1 next week as isn't U2 releasing a song for Mandela......That name by itself will probably sell loads |

124 000 albums sold is great news!
![]() And SOML is certainly holding incredibly well, I don't think anyone expected that to this extend ![]() It's too bad that there is no chance at a #1 next week, but considering it's very likely to still be in the top 10 (or 5) after 6 weeks, it's incredible. |

So they're on 361k for the album after 2 weeks!! That's already #11 or 12 in the year-to-date chart!
And great, a new peak for SOML! #2 seems to be the best they can get in this era

an article about Def Leopard alledgelly considering legal action against Midnight Memories on the unlinkable website:http ://www.un realitytv.co.uk/reality-tv/def-leppard-considering-legal-action-one-direction-midnight-memories/ Quote:
Def Leppard considering legal action against One Direction over Midnight Memories? If true, it's still up in the air... for now.One Direction are celebrating a pretty successful few months, after their latest album Midnight Memories topped charts around the world and they certainly shone on Saturday Night Love yesterday, however there could be some trouble on the horizon for the band. The lads released their third studio album last month and within hours not only was the LP climbing the charts, but many of the tracks also made it into the top 20 on their own steam. One such track was the title song Midnight Memories, which debuted at number 3 in the Irish and Australian charts. The song is a catchy, upbeat, rocky tune which many people have compared to Def Leppard’s classic track ‘Pour Some Sugar On Me’ and it’s this comparison that’s causing problems. An insider told The Mirror that Def Leppard’s legal team are investigation the fact that the track seems to be closely based on and inspired by their composition and it’s reported that there could be legal action on the cards, against the X Factor stars. Def Leppard are not credited on the song, but band members Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson have been named as two of the principle songwriters. A source close to the rock band told the newspaper: “Music lawyers will routinely scour hits like this one to see if there is any evidence that a band has either copied or cleverly mimicked a Def Leppard song. “These cases can often take weeks to sort out because we are not talking about peanuts here – the 1D album is selling millions and if the title track goes out as a single it will generate even more money.” The source added: “Everyone is staying silent at this stage but it’s clear the two songs sound alike – which has been enough for Def Leppard’s aides to pose questions to their legal team.” But after BSE, I have been doubting the abilities of some of the experts that the boys work with (the BSE intro should not have made it to the album, it's a lucky thing that the Who were very gracious because their case was a lot more solid IMO). You would expect that someone (or a team even) at a music label would be in charge of looking into this side of things, wouldn't you? While there must have been some (maybe even accidental) inspiration, I see this one as less clear cut. If this acticle is accurate (you never know!), it makes me wonder if it's not part of the reason for the unexpected "Through the Dark" performance at SNL. |

I'm happy they're doing so well with this album and single. The Through The Dark performance was great too despite some flubs here and there.

ETA is it pour some sugar on me? I don't think they have a leg to stand on and anyway I would say they ripping a Queen song so how can they accuse others.......Reckon this will give them some column inches! |
