The first few days of new style forum were really hard for a lot of people to read, and using bold text seemed to make it clearer.
Subsequent improvements have hepled, and some (but not all)would prefer that we revert to normal text.

Please chose which option is easier on your eyes.

To be fair I have a Stylebot DS look, which avoids the glaring white. So the typeface is not so bad.

It might be worth reloading DS as they have "supposedly" improved the font.

Bold fonts look weirdly spaced out rather than actual bold.

I've got used to this board now.
Except for the unnecessarily over-sized header.
I can't believe anyone who says it's difficult to read.
Just hold "ctrl" down and press "+" a couple of times to increase the font size.

Or if you are using Chrome there is a small magnifying glass on the address bar. You tend to lose the link to the Strictly sub forum if you go too big and the smilies can get distorted.

I never read posts that are all in bold, and also never read them when first letters are caps (or excessive caps is used). That 'style' usually signifies that an idiot was at work. Saves me time by not reading what fools think.

I prefer the normal text, as bold is quite blurry to read if there is too much of it. The glaring white pageis my main gripe, so I'd be interested to know what "Stylebot" is. I'm not very technologically savvy, so it would need to be easy to do

Doghouse, I can change font size quite easily with a "zoom level" tool. Sometimes the right side of the page disappears but I can put that right by closing my "favourites" which I usually have displayed on the left.

It's better than it was, think goodness. Control + does increase font size but doesn't it also stretch the white areas between posts.

Bbwlisa...that's a separate issue.I'm just trying to find out what most would prefer between bold and normal

I prefer normal, but like others find the white glare bothersome. I find the type a little too tightly spaced, too.

If you are using Chrome as a browser you can get the Stylebot extension via preferences.

If you are on Firefox there is Stylish which serves a similar purpose.

Funny you should say that, as I never read posts which simply say,

"This message is hidden because (you know who) is on your ignore list."

There's an awful lot of those on different threads.

I'm afraid I don't really like either. Plain is rather faint, but bold is somewhat blurred.

Not a happy camper.

That's just not netiquette. It's extremely rude as it means you are shouting - bold capitals is even worse.

Capitalising the first letter of every word is extremely annoying and even more so when all words are bold as is being done by one person just to be perverse. I'm surprised the mods haven't picked up on it and told him to stop annoying other posters and go back to normal posting.

Most may not realise but too many caps and ridiculous length thread titles look even more horrendous on a mobile. Even if that is the one aspect that (touch wood) seems to be working well following the upgrade. Now I no longer have the cursor jumping about all over the place when I am using my mobile to post.

I'd rather a little bit more weight to the current font, but as it now stands, normal rather than bol.

Increase the zoom level to 125% and although the large writing is on a level with reading a children's book it resolves the nose against screen problem.

I have made good use of the Ignore function so that I am no longer subjected to posts by this individual. Of course the ridiculous thread titles still appear, but I just avoid those threads.

I was thinking about it - why is it so aggravating? The bold makes me feel as if I am being shouted at and as for the capitalisation, that drives me crazy but I am not sure why. I mean, it does make every sentence read in my head like a pronouncement by an opinionated and pompous idiot, but I still can't quite understand why it is such a red rag for me.

Think this is down to plain old fashioned good manners. Those who observe good netiquette do not shout at people by capitalisation of words or unnecessary bolding.

This is why those who do are considered rude.
