Out of that list, Charli XCX, Diana Vickers, Lorde and Ariana Grande are some of the favourites from this year.

Not on the list, AlunaGeorge, Natalia Kills and Sky Ferreira I also adore.

It has not been the best year for music in fact it's been pretty terrible. My favourite pop album of the year is Little Boots - Nocturnes and even that is not a great album. Roll on 2014 where there might be better music on offer.

I've chosen PRISM as my favourite POP album from that list.

*The Saturdays album was a second choice. I'm a big Britney fan but I really don't like her new offering, I'm afraid.

I bought Charli XCX's album but I've barely listened to it. She's not great live either, in my opinion. I noticed that she used a very loud backing track and came in too late on one of the songs when she supported Paramore in September.

I have lots of others which I have enjoyed this year. I have a few that I would probably put above PRISM but they aren't pop.

I've had lot's of faves this year tbh.

Britney Spears - Britney Jean
Gaga - Artpop
The Saturdays - Living For the Weekend
Hurts - Exile
Little Mix - Salute.

Probably my top 5 for the year now that I think about it.

Haven't heard Katy Perry's or Natalia Kills' albums yet because I should be getting them for Christmas, hopefully they'll be worth the wait!

Don't worry, it's still pop, but a sub-genre
