Was pre planned, he recorded the Christmas show on Monday as well as last Saturdays show, with the dress rehearsals that would have been an active four days.

Wasn't the show great? I thought the girls handled it wonderfully. They were funny, slick and professional.

I hope Bruce takes the next couple of weeks off too It is so much better without him slowing things down waiting for laughs.

You mean just a day short of a week's work?

Ooo! "Aren't we getting value for money given what he's paid?"

The show was great, it's always great, with or without Bruce.

Considering against what ? What,

Ant and Dec get,

Considering what,

Simon Cowell, Sharon Osborne gets,

Considering what

Christine bleakly and Adrain Chiles gets,

Considering what Phillip Schofield gets, ( actually might be good value he's on every show)

DR, can you quote to me what Bruce does get? Bet you can't it's not quoted, in the public domain, people guess it.

So half a weeks work? You know that do you,

Just turn up five mins before a show and go home straight after, no prep reduction, no meetings, no dress rehearsals,

If I work 4 days a week when I'm in my 80s I'll be considering that a full week's work thank you very much!

No I think you'll find it takes longer than that, what a silly suggestion!

Hmm..

Did you spot the difference?
None of those you quoted, are paid out of the licence fee.

There's usually eight hours in a working day. That should be enough for a competent presenter to rehearse and present a TV recording.

What does Bruce get paid?

I've no idea, the BBC won't tell anyone, but this might be close to the mark give or take a couple of hundred thousand either way.

Plenty of other opinions on-line.

Took time off to conserve his gag quota, material is about as thin as his hairline.

Apart from them being the only ones not to have heard his jokes before, he'd scare the children.
