Maybe Artem was forbidden to do chemistry and touching. I wonder why he is so pig-headed about keeping breaking the rules. If he did this in professional competitive dancing he wouldn't get far.

I thought paso double didnt have to be hold to much.

There's quite a lot one can do in hold. This was like two butterflies flying around.

I'm beginning to wonder what the necks going on. I was screaming at the TV 'hold Artrm hold' but they just went on their merry way wafting & passing each other. I just don't get it. I expected it to be a great dance & get 4 10s but they produced that polite & uninspiring paso

Artem's choreographies this year are like deconstructed cooking. He may chuck in the right ingredients, but you keep asking yourself what's wrong with the original.

Completely agree, if anything it reminded me of Ferns Paso. Very disappointing. Perhaps her back has been playing up this week?

Other people are mentioning lack of chemistry. I don't blame them for that though. It's either there or it isn't. It's nobodies fault.

Artem's Paso wasn't a patch on Kev's.

It's the whiteness of Artem's teeth. It blinds Natalie and makes her keep her distance

At the start of the series, once Artem realised Natalie could dance, I think he had a conversation with her.

He explained to her that the way to win is to choreograph routines that please the viewers and all of the judges except Len, but not to worry about him.

His moaning will come across as grumpiness and he won't mark them down by much anyway.

Explains everything.

I can't help wondering the same. Every week she has been panned, not for her ability or performances but for the choreography. What's going on Artem?

Artem knows Natalie has beautiful lines and can dance on her own quite safely. Trouble is, this has prevented any chemistry they have coming through due to insufficient touch points being included.

I am a fan of Artem's choreography but also of choreographing the dance you were supposed to choreograph.

I was hoping for a lot of classic dances from Natalie that would probably be better than the series of dances Vincent and Rachel produced.
It hasn't happened due to lack of proper content.

That Paso was correct ask any pro Spanish dancer. It does not have to be in hold !!!

Artem boring sorry he outshines all the pros on SCD have you seen him live ?

I have seen him in Strictly Confidential and with Kara on tour even Ian Waite said on ITT Artem is an excellent choreographer and many of the Pro dancers copy his choreography so I defend him on here.

As for correct dances Brendon tonight did an illegal lift at the end of Sophie and his Tango cannot remember that being mentioned !

All I can say is, based on what I've seen of top quality ballroom dancing, Natalie & Artem come far closer to emulating it than anyone else in the competition and possibly in the history of the show.

I'm still waiting for a WOW dance from Natalie & Artem & as it's semi finals next week(if they're through) I don't think i'm going to get one.

But the paso doble is not a Spanish dance. Flamenco is and is not in hold, paso is a stylised dance from ballroom / Latin American dancing where some hold is needed.

I was hoping for an expecting a blinding Paso with 10's across the board. Felt very let down, disappointed with Artem, yet again.

True. Artem made Natalie the star rather than take front & centre the way Kevin did.

The only star of N&A's Paso was Natalie's skirt

What's wrong with that, that Artem has to go and deconstruct it. He reminds me of people who feel a need to improve things that are already perfect. There's a satisfaction in being able to do a great choreography within rules of each dance. But that's something he's not interested in. He wants something completely different, but paradoxically ends up doing the same old same old with each choreography.

Well said Ivan. I started a thread on this very same subject a while back and was nearly hung, drawn quartered for it. I'm glad to see there are more than a few people that actually so share my opinion. Artem has been letting Natalie down, with his choreo for most of the dances. She has so much potential that he is not fulfilling. I hope he addresses this before its too late. Sort yourself out Artem, toe the line and give Natalie a chance.

I'm sick of her bloody skirts. That's all she ever seems to do.

She's only got two hands, you muppet. How's she supposed to dance with you, Artem, when she's got two fists full of fabric!

But Artem just loves his own choreography. He won't change. He's such a cold fish. Can we be rid of him, please?
