Brendan must be fuming

After Brendan and Sophie's beautiful Rumba they were told it wasn't dirty and sexy enough but then tonight they say the opposite to Patrick and Anya
Totally confused.

Judges just don't know what they're doing this year and I think LEN in particular is getting senile.

So obvious they are making it up as they go along and can't remember what happened yesterday nevermind last week!!

This. And to the OP, I thought the same thing.

Obviously, context, artistic interpretation, expectation, and so on, all play a legitimate part in their opinions on any given dance (though expectation is arguably legitimate).

But the way they contradict themselves has become silly.

We said the same thing, Bruno never mentioned the word "raunchy" once.

i didn't think they were calling P&As rhumba sexy/dirty - i thought they were calling it aggressive... like a fight more than anything else...

Patrick and Anya's rumba to me was aggressive more than passionate

Bruno (and to a lesser extent Craig) asked Sophie to be raunchier. Len told Patrick to be less raunchy. They're two different people. I'm not sure what the problem is? Len has always wanted "classy" rumbas and Craig/Bruno "sexier" ones ever since series 1.

Besides, even if it was one person judging with one viewpoint, it's possible for one couple to be "too hot" and another "too cold". It's not famine or feast - it's a scale.

Patrick did start off with a look on his face like a psychopathic King of Siam

I get the feeling Brendan is always releasing emissions of some kind.

Brendan was really fuming after the swingathon. Definitely some gesticulation in the judges' direction (as with Ashley) and I think Sophie pretty much pushed him off the floor away from them.

But given their clear bias I really can't blame him. Len tells Sophie that she's delivered exactly what he asked her to deliver - and then gives her a lower mark than she had last time out!

This is the worst series I can remember for erratic and biased judging. Mind you, I don't go back that far so I can't swear it hasn't been worse. But it's been pretty appalling.

Actually I liked Len tonight, telling Artem that he can't fool him with music and costumes, it was still faffing about.

I think the "reaction" at the Swingathon was part of the act, as all the pros sent off made some sort of comment - it looked rehearsed and I think it was. But I thought all the judges missed one point about Patrick and Anya's Rumba - they acted out the story of the song line for line, which is why, I think it came over as so impassioned.

I loved both Patrick's and Sophie's Rumbas.
