Did Kevin Clifton say why though when Len was speaking at the end of swing ton?

He just wanted to know why they were thrown out of the swing so soon, especially as it was so blatant that they wanted rid of all the dancers except Natalie and Artem. They left so soon, they'd barely had time to dance more than 2 steps. So unfair, whichever couple it had happened to.

good or bad was too soon to form an opinion they should have danced a minimum amount of bars before they started getting rid

Didn't like all the fake ranting or the fact the cameras panned to the fake rants rather than concentrating on the dancers.
It all seamed rather pointless.

Well not quite all. Abbey danced off still wooting

But anyway, Kevin's "But WHY?" was afterwards when Len was giving his critique, not as people were leaving the floor.

Tess asked Len why Susanna and Kevin were first to go, and his response was a load of nonsense that didn't answer the question, so on that Kevin said, 'but why'? It was because Len didn't answer the question, it wasn't a protest on the decision. Poor Kev is perplexed with Len's inane comments. Like that time when he said their dance was 'chicken soup'. He'll get used to it, eventually...

It was a silly question though.

They were voted off first because the judges determined they were the least of the bunch. By protesting, as Kevin did, is another way of saying he felt at least one other couple should have been sent from the floor before them and that just isn't sporting.

It sounded more like a spontaneous reaction, rather than a question. I think you are reading a bit too much into this.

No bendy, we aren't talking about the pantomime as the couples left the floor.

From post #9

As a teacher I tell my students faced with exams to answer the question, not beg it. Len may have had a perfectly good reason for his choice but he certainly didn't give it when Tess asked.

Being kind perhaps? As I say, the answer is pretty darn obvious.

Clearly Len had the Kevin and Susannah paddle in his hand almost before they started dancing. They should have at least watched them dance for a bit before dismissing them. Perhaps the judges got the "hurry up" from production who now seem to interfere so much.

Totally agree. Having watched it back, I think Kevin was expecting some constructive comments/criticism and was expressing confusion when what he actually got was a load of waffle.

It may have been obvious had they actually had the opportunity to dance! Are we to seriously believe the judges watched all couples dancing, discussed and debated who was worst and come to a conclusion in that space of time? Cobblers! It was obviously predetermined.

Agree with you. I never expected swingathon to be Susanna's thing, but they had hardly got started and Len gave no answer at all. I think they were genuinely a bit cheesed off. Imagine practising for hours and only dancing for a few seconds. They need Jeremy Paxman there to make the judges answer the questions!
