I seem to remember in the past that the professionals who had never choreographed a particular dance before got help from a specialist in that dance.
Kevin really needed help in choreographing that Argentine Tango from someone who knew what they were doing...... .....and why oh why did they put him in those awful trousers. They were baggy bottomed and had a thick white stripe down the side. Talk about drawing attention to any bad moves. Every time he flicked - he flapped. ....and as others have said, in the Swingathon, the judges must have had their 'Susanna/Kevin' paddle already handy before they even started dancing. How could you give a dance the once over in such a short space of time. |

Every couple's routine is a repeating pattern. Surely there is enough time to show the television audience each couple's sequence in its entirety while the judges are ranking the couples. Then could call them off in quick succession at the end.

Tess asked Len why Susanna and Kevin were first to go, and his response was a load of nonsense that didn't answer the question, so on that Kevin said, 'but why'? It was because Len didn't answer the question, it wasn't a protest on the decision. Poor Kev is perplexed with Len's inane comments. Like that time when he said their dance was 'chicken soup'. He'll get used to it, eventually...

If you watch back, the couples danced for over 30 seconds before the first names were called, it wasn't as quick as people imagine.
As usual for the last few years, we at home were not given a great view and that might be why it seemed the first couple were eliminated before we had seen anything. |

Quite right Smokey, watched it back myself and was surprised it was that long before the first elimination.
However it also confirmed my thoughts as to just how bad Patrick was ! |

Yep this is spot on. Trouble was it was all so confused that people thought K and S hadn't been dancing long when in fact it just felt like that because they were distracted with all the other dancers flying about and didn't see them. I saw some of their dancing and tbh it was pants.
In fact Susanna seems to have nosedived the last couple of weeks. |

Kevin the teenager.
Len had just explained why but he had to ask again. I wish Len had told him the truth, they were crap and she couldn't keep up. |

As usual for the last few years, we at home were not given a great view and that might be why it seemed the first couple were eliminated before we had seen anything. I had a quick look at the other thong-a-things over the years - the series 8 one had about 25 seconds of proper dancing before Gavin and Katya were eliminated, and series 9 had about 30 seconds before Robbie and Ola were given the chop. In contrast, Susanna and Kevin got about 15 seconds. So I think Susannah and Kevin's fans have a point, although I also think that even had they danced for a good 30 seconds, they would still have been the first to go. |

you cannot count the bit they did together as part of the swingathon they were just on the podiums once they stepped on the floor it was 3 bars of music before they eliminated the first couple - far too short
Ashley and Ola the most robbed IMO they were better than Patrick Abbey and Sophie |
