Going downstairs is far worse for the knees than going up, so any ballroom movement that uses a similar action is equally painful as trying to get bounce.

It's very difficult to compare isn't it, when they've all done very different things (well, a lot of the new ones have done SYTYCD, but...). You wouldn't necessarily realise that competition titles are in different categories.

I am sure I read on another thread that Charlestons and AT are choreographed by specialist choreographers. (Apart from Vincent & Flav of course for AT)

This means that Brendan (like Kevin in AT) - who had never done a Charleston on Strictly - was not only doing the dance for the first time himeself, but was having to learn someone else's choreography rather than creating his own.

The best pro dancer on Strictly (if we're going from competitive titles) was probably Hazel Newberry as a pro world ballroom champion.

Iveta's a pro ten dance world champion, and Vincent and Flavia were pro UK ten dance champions and world finalists.

So Kevin's record isn't that great (not compared to his sister's at any rate!) but he seems lovely and a more 'traditional' dancer, so I'm quite happy to watch him ”

Very true. Such a shame Hazel only appeared in one series.

I agree. It is really difficult to compare.
