Hi. Tech novice here with some questions re: updating the OS on a Gemini Joytab. It runs Ice Cream Sandwich and I was wondering how easy it is to upgrade it to the latest Jellybean OS. It is running slow and while I may have bought a crappy tablet, I was wondering if it would be worth updating it to the latest Jellybean version of Android? Would it increase the speed and functionality?

Is it possible and if so, is it fairly straightforward? I wouldn't have a clue where to start and have looked for instructions online but couldn't find any. That tells me it could be: not possible, not worth doing due to the hassle factor, or I am putting in incorrect terms in the search function.

Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Many thanks for this SkipTracer. I take it that although Android is a generic platform for tablets, each device will react to an update differently. I will take a look at the link though. Many thanks.

most updates happen automatically. If your tablet doesn't yet have jelly bean, you'll have to jump through quite a few hoops to get it
