I'd say this seems highly plausible ~ canned for daring to speak up rather than canned for the same old same old certainly sounds better.

I agree that the pro dances have been naff this year, and I've said as much on here, but to tweet/retweet comments to that effect when you're employed by the show is a fairly public way of requesting your P45. If you worked in a restaurant would you expect to get away with tweeting comments about how the food isn't as good as it used to be? The party line is 'This is all brilliant! Best series ever! Every dance is the best dance ever!' He should take a few lessons from Zoe ...

Besides, I am fairly sure the whole lot are self employed and not on quite the terms of your average worker. A bit like pro sport. The backchat on both sides goes with the territory.

It was in the Mirror today that Simon Cowell wants to put a dance competition on ITV Perhaps James & Ola want to go to him instead.

Bearing in mind the raging failure that "Stepping Out" their feeble effort at a dancing show managed - any Strictly pro would be insane to set foot a million miles within range of an ITV copycat show.

James and Ola would be excellent judges if there is a major shakeup.

Although their Strictly partners are not touring (who would pay money to watch Vanessa Feltz !!!)
Maybe another reason they were not considered is (as other have posted previously) if James referred to CRH's rent-boy past - bearing in mind that CRH is the Strictly Tour Director, and decides who tours from the Pro's.

Maybe he can get away with slagging off the judges / producers, but annoying someone with direct "hire and fire" powers over the Strictly Tour is a little naïve.

I'm self-employed, and I tend to work on a succession of self-contained projects for a roster of around 4 or 5 main clients. There's no agreement in place that, upon completion of one project, they'll hire me for their next one. But I'd expect not to be re-hired by any client whom I'd publicly criticised.

If he's self-employed, he still has a contract with Strictly, and bad-mouthing them/the show/people who work on the show will not go down well and could lead to his contract not being renewed (as would happen with any self-employed person who chose to publically bad-mouth an organisation they have a contract with).

James has a history of mouthing off, so this situation can't really be compared with the odd comment from other pros. He's a liability, and in his profession, he's disposable. There will be hundreds of pro dancers wanting the Strictly gig, so he's easy to replace.

No worries, I understand the vagaries of contracts for and of service pretty well.



That "history" of his does not seem to have done him any harm. Au contraire, they seem anxious to include him despite that, (plus his elimination and injury) by giving him slots on ITT. I am sure they'd find a way to leave him off screen whatever the current arragements, if they saw fit.

If they became unhappy with him then of course they may very well choose not to renew that arrangement, assuming of course James would wish it renewed himself.

That said I appreciate that you don't like his manner and I'm not suggesting you should change your view.

When he was with Pamela he was constantly over marked but it didn't bother him then. He just comes across so arrogant and needs to realise that the show isn't about him and his wife. I always thought this since he had a go at john sergeant. He really needs to be quiet and act like a professional.

Those all seem fair comments to me. Craig mentions that he was a rent boy at the drop of a hat so couldn't care less. A lot of attractive people exploit their assets. It wasn't that long ago when marriage was referred to as legalised prostitution at a time when many women were essentially kept by their husband and rape was not a crime within marriage because he had conjugal rights. Sorry if this is a bit too dark for this forum.
