Susanna and Sophie receive the same score for their AT
Is that really fair? Susanna's was either over marked or Sophie's undermarked. I'm not saying Sophie's was out of this world but it was better than Susanna's.

The marks go up week by week as we get closer to the end. Get ready for a lot of boring dances that nobody will remember as soon as the episode ends popping 38s and 39s next week.
32 now is about the equivalent of a 26/27 when Sophie did her A. Tango I'd say. |

Personally I enjoyed neither, but if push came to shove I would merit Sophie with the better one....Susannah's was pure car crash while Sophie's was very uninspiring.

Sophie's AT was quite poor, but Susannah's was not great, v poor this for this dance this year.
We can't possibly be missing Vincent can we? |

Personally the problem with Susanna's AT was the music: it was too fast and didn't create the right atmosphere. This isn't the first time that inappropriate music has been used for a particular dance style.

Scoring straight eights at this stage is basically what you get for showing up and not falling over. Like straight sevens in the earlier rounds.
I liked Sophie's AT much more. If it were performed now I reckon it'd get 36. |

Nope. Not a single 10 was given in week five.

Week 7, slightly later than they normally start coming out.

But why does it matter when they weren't both danced on the same night. Susanna couldn't get any lower on the leaderboard so it's of absolutely no consequence what it's actual score was let alone what score another celeb got for the same dance in a different week. The only time these things annoy me is when it involves perfect scores & record books.

32 now is about the equivalent of a 26/27 when Sophie did her A. Tango I'd say. This. Susanna may have scored the same as Sophie but she was still bottom of the leaderboard. The judges are at a stage now where, unless there's still a Widdy or a John Sergeant haunting the scene, placing the worst performance solidly at the bottom of the heap is enough. There's no real need to put the boot in. |

Personally I didn't like either and thought the scores were fair. I thought Sophie's AT was quite shaky and she seemed unsteady.
You have to remember the scores go up as a whole as the competition goes on (whether it's right or not it does happen)So an dance that scored 30 in Week 2 possibly would have score higher later. I'm sure if Sophie's Charleston was later in the series it would definitely have got a 10. |

Susanna's was unfortunately much worse. The basic kicks and flicks lacked any sharpness. For two weeks running she has been over marked yet still at the bottom of the leaderboard. Sophie's wasn't as good as the AT from last year but it was a decent AT.

I suppose we could look at the flipside; Sophie's Jive was scored joint-third on scores (out of all the Jives this series) and was arguably only better than Dave's. It can work both ways. *shrug* But comparing the absolute scores tends to be iffy since the baseline changes each week, usually as Monkseal says a tendency to increase across the series with maybe the dip for the 'Blackpool hangover' (and maybe spikes for the theme weeks).

I thought Sophie's AT was much better, but yeah a 32 on Week 7 isn't the equivalent of a 32 on Week 11. Had Susanna done her AT on Week 7, she probably would have gotten a 28 or 29? Whereas Sophie's on Week 11 probably would have gotten a 34 or 35?

Susanna's AT last night was little more than a glorified walk. It was atrocious.

I think they were about equal. Of course those that dislike Susannah will think it worse than it actually was. I didn't think it was terrible but it did lack intensity and passion as did Sophie's.

Both seemed about the same to me; pretty lousy when compared to a real Argentine Tango as performed outside the cafes in Buenos Aires by non professionals, dancing for pesos thrown into a hat.
