Gotham - Batman prequel tv show (US pace)
After my error of posting in another thread I decided to start this thread as I couldn't find another one about this upcoming show!
Fox are doing a show called Gotham about a young Jim Gordan and his rise through the Gotham police department. It is being produced by The Mentalist creator Bruno Heller and they have already started casting by looking for a 10 year old Bruce Wayne which shows that the pilot might feature Jim Gordan investigating the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne! This could be an interesting idea and will hopefully feature the rise of villians from the Batman comics! |

I hope they include Black Mask as a villain. It seemed a little remiss for him to not be in any of the movies as I thought he was perfect for the Nolan style.
Oh and The Ventriloquist! |

The OC's Ben McKenzie has been cast in the lead role in Fox's pilot Gotham.
McKenzie will be playing the Batman franchise's Detective James Gordon in the series, which will explore the character's journey to become Gotham police commissioner. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/ustv/new...#ixzz2sm9Uhrgz |

Well Arrow was aimed at the adult TV audience like Gotham will be unlike Smallville which was more aimed towards the teenage audience. So I would assume that Gotham is going to be more like Arrow!

Will this be set NOW or in the PAST though? Yes, it's Batman's/Gordon's past, but is it OUR past?

I can't wait for this
I hope it has a nice mix of standalones and story arcs. Ben Mckenzie is not the best actor to lead a show imo. In both Southland and The O.C, he was always outshone by his supporting actors. |

I think McKenzie might surprise us to be honest. I'll give him a fair chance.
I actually think Gotham is sounding more exciting than Batman Vs. Superman at the moment. |

If Gotham is as good as Arrow has gotten, it'll definitely be worth watching.

I was really looking forward to Gotham untill they cast Jada Pinkett Smith in it as this has really lowered my hopes for the show.I hope it's only a small role for her!

She's not my favourite actress but there's more than enough going on with this show to sustain my interest though. |

This still sounds more exciting than Batman Vs. Superman at the moment.

It's an adult show - well aimed for people who would watch Arrow or something.
The focus is on James Gordon as a detective, so the likes of Bruce and Selina are children in this show. |

I don't know. It really could go either way but for now, I'm gonna stay hopeful for it.

So will Gotham be 26eps of Gordon being a new Policeman protecting Gotham from non-costumed baddies (they not arriving until after Batman turned up), Bruce watching tv and reading Shakespear in the mansion whilst eating quail eggs and caviar and Selina watching the cockroaches crawl around her flat, reading the backs of cereal packages and eating leftovers from next doors Generic Fast Food place ? I'm keen to see what they do do and will be there for the duration.
