Well, Gordon got his job back rather quickly, didn't he? I'm surprised they didn't decide to keep him at Arkham for a tiny bit longer.

He also managed to take out Gruber quicker than expected and get together with Leslie too for good measure.

Loved his not so veiled threat to Loeb though who seems to be as inept as the Mayor is as well.

Bullock had some solid one liners in this episode and I did feel bad for Nygma when Kringle rejected him again, but yeah the cupcake/bullet thing was a tad creepy.

No Selina, Bruce or Alfred again. Kind of miss them now.

Barbara's parents are horrible. That's it really.

Fish made her move too soon and got Liza killed, Falcone back in power and Oswald lording it over her. I'm beginning to wonder if she'll make it out of the season alive now.

Maroni better start copping on that his trained monkey is betraying him and fast too, 8/10

Sure she will! And somehow it'll tie in with Alfred as repayment for her 'kindness'..

I'll reserve judgement on whether that's a good or a bad thing till I've seen the rest of this season. Up till now it's been great but you can never tell.

I'm delighted for the show. It's become one of my favourites over the last few months.

It's a decent show, was a bit disappointed how easily Jim defeated the bad guy but I'm a fan of Christopher Heyerdahl as he always plays unhinged bad guys so well, he is great as the swede in Hell On Wheels.

They really do need to get rid of Jim's wife though, there is no chemistry between them at all whereas there is with the Morena Baccarin character.

Wonder if Fish will be killed off or find some way to wiggle off the hook.

This show continues to be uninspiring. The characters are too simple-minded and the plots are getting weaker and weaker. Fish is supposed to be a smart lady, yet was undone in seconds after having concocting a dismal plan to overthrow Falcone.

Then you've got Gordon (once again) outdoing the villain with ease. That's now five (that I can remember) , that have contributed to a lame conclusion to an episode.

With the Arkham episode, they really missed a trick. They should've teased a lot more of the inner workings and the potential of the place to become a criminal hub.

Jim and Barbara aren't married, but yeah, unless the show runners have a surprisingly shocking story arc for Barbara that they've got hidden up their sleeves then they really need to get rid as she is so pointless and uninteresting. She is to this show what Katrina is to Sleepy Hollow.

Ah sorry I thought they were married, I don't mind Katrina in Sleepy Hollow that much, think she will loosen up a bit with more time in modern life. As soon as any scenes with Barbara come on I pick up the tablet & mess about with that, she is just so boring.

At least Katrina is hot!

I'm hoping she is not THE Barbara Gordon marries, but another ex who just happens to be called Babara. Shame Morena's character isn't called Barbara.

I found it amusing that he was able to defeat him the way he did.

Now he has to learn to waterproof his equipment.

Ooh, that was a good episode.

The corruption storyline with Gordon vs. Flass had some decent moments but now his friendship with Oswald has slightly compromised his morality as well, going by Delaware's begging at the end of the episode.

Bullock and Essen (the latter especially) are growing a little more as characters. This is a good thing.

Fish can withstand a fair amount of pain. Glad we finally learned her real name but she's still in desperate need of a bad story. Not surprised that Fish and Bullock have a romantic/sexual history though.

Butch was great in this episode but I get the feeling that Zsasz is going to have a fun time torturing him as well.

Ivy continues to be creepy as anything.

The Bruce/Selina scenes - now there was a friendship ending badly for now, 7/10

Loved this episode. I didn't know if going down the Crane Sr route would work but it really did in this one and Julian Sands is brilliant and terrifying as Gerald Crane, isn't he?

Glad we got to see Jonathan, even if it was briefly in the episode.

Bullock got a love interest who nearly got killed in this episode. Loved most of his one liners here too.

Jim and Leslie not only have better chemistry than him and Barbara but they seem genuinely relaxed around each other and seem to like each other's company. I hope it doesn't peter out too soon though.

Nygma's method for avoiding suspension was pretty devious but that ME was a right jerk. Not sure where they're going with him and Kringle though.

The Oswald and Maroni scenes were brilliant - greatly played but jeez, Oswald, how many tight spots are you narrowly going to get out of? Getting a lift back to Gotham from a gospel choir was inspired too.

Not a lot of Bruce and Selina scenes but they had some good moments though, 8/10

Loved that episode. Now that was a perfect and horribly tragic way of setting up Jonathan and his future fate as the Scarecrow.

Gerald's motives were interesting, even sympathetic but at the same time, it had to end horribly for him and even worse for his own son, who he's cursed now.

Gordon and Leslie really do have chemistry. They just work so well together that I want the show to defy canon and not have him and Barbara reunite at all.

Leslie in general was pretty fun in this episode though I was surprised that Essen hadn't heard of her and Gordon being an item. Bullock's teasing was amusing too.

Great subplot with Bruce and Alfred this week and like with Jonathan, I got an element of Bruce's fate being set up as well.

Fish really does know how to turn a bad situation into an advantage. Killing Mace and assuming command over those prisoners almost seemed a bit too easy though. Eyeless woman gave me the creeps though.

Nygma and Oswald meeting up at GCPD was just delightful. I want another scene with those two.

Good scenes with Falcone and Maroni as well. Felt a little bad that Oswald's opening night was a bust though.

Next week's episode looks very, very interesting, 8/10

It's not like Gordon and Barbara were together for ages in the comics anyway, plus for it to really follow them he'd also have to eventually end up with Essen, which I don't see as likely in the series.

I'd be surprised if the show ever went there with Gordon and Essen to be honest.

That being said, it's high time we got a little more on Essen too as well as a backstory for Fish.

I loved this one. I don't know if Jerome will end up becoming a future Joker but he was certainly a creepy kid who had that laugh down pretty well and killing his own mother, yikes.

Both him and Cicero were interesting during that interrogation scene.

Loved the rivarly between the Lloyds and the Graysons and it was nice meeting a certain Boy Wonder's parents in the way that we did.

Barbara's only back an episode and already she sucks the fun out of things. Clearly still on the drugs and taking fashion tips from Selina and Ivy as well. Don't think she has a right to sulk about Jim moving on.

Speaking of which - the show needs to chuck canon out of the window because Gordon and Leslie seriously have chemistry in spades. She's everything the show needs and right now is the best adult female character on the show.

Essen's reaction to a snake being used as a tracker and Bullock's reaction to the circus folk was brilliant too. Nygma also seemed impressed by Leslie too.

Much as I enjoy Oswald, I actually don't think this episode really needed him at all. Nice that he lets his mama sing but she's bad for business though. I did like that we found out what Victor did to Butch though.

Fish continues to impress with the way she got her meeting with the manager and loved Bruce showing Wayne Enterprises who is boss too, 9/10

It's pretty much a safe bet to say yes he's is, Fox posted a picture yesterday of Jerome grinning with HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA all over it with Tonight's episode is NO JOKE in big white letters.

Yea they posted a teaser poster saying he was "no joke" also if you listen to the way he speaks once he turns bad he is taking the mannerisms right out of the Heath Ledger joker book 101. The way he emphasises his words as he says "SheJust Kept Pushing". Then the head tilt and the laugh, pull up another window and it's very similar to Ledgers, you'd think it was. No denying it as far as I'm concerned. Read that we are a good 7/8 years away from seeing "The Joker" though but it will explore his background and they have freedom for it as there is little on that subject.

Barbara is *awful*. A boring, badly written character, whose actor has zero chemistry with her on-screen romantic counterpart.

Whereas Leslie is the opposite...

Screw canon. As mentioned before, it's hardly likely they'd put Gordon and Essen together later on anyway, so why even bother putting him back with Barbara? Leave him with Leslie, and just write Barbara out...

I feel they could have Gordon with Leslie for now, and say that Barbara is not THE Barbara, and that another Barbara is THE Barbara. Or even recast this Barbara.
