Ooh it seems not alls lost as new episodes unlock 8 days after broadcast.
I gave up waiting and downloaded a different version instead.

Did anyone else think they'd skipped a couple of episodes at the start? I hate it when they do that.

I really liked this one.

The Maniax plot is great and Jerome really has emerged as a pretty fantastic threat for the show as well.

The character's demise I wished they had waited for a bit longer though.

Nice scenes with Barbara and Gordon in this one and I am liking Theo and Tabitha as villains too.

The lack of Oswald and Selina helped things, much as I enjoy the character. Nygma's story is being done with the wrong character IMO.

The Bruce/Alfred/Lucious plot was a little weaker compared to the other but still enjoyable though, 8/10

This ep was boring. For me, they are really not getting these characters right; they're just coming off as bad parodies. I'm even struggling to remember what the plot was because it dragged so much in the middle.

I think Police recruitment will be down in Gotham after that

I know the 6th escapee from Arkham was killed off last week but was there mention of the Police finding this out in this episode?

As otherwise it's a bit odd that at the start they were only looking for 5 inmates.

The character's demise I wished they had waited for a bit longer though.
Yeah I was surprised they were killed off so early.

With 'bloody' being the operative word!

I think they were trying to rival Game of Thrones' "Red Wedding".

Episode 2 was amazing from start to finish.

I really like how they're not obeying canon from the comics or movies, this version of Gotham feels like it could almost be set in a parallel universe.

don't care, i'm loving this show, episode 2 season 2 was just fantastic, if jerome isn't the mr j then they're gonna have to find somebody who can perform him for this version of the joker.

I'd be most surprised if he isn't. They're going out their way to play him that way. The only thing missing is the suit and hair (scars if going nolaney) but the laughs, mannerisms, jokes all say joker. It would be like when someone guesses what hand the ball is in and then you blatantly see them change it as a result of you guessing correct. You're just left going "really? Come on!" Would ruin his character if he isn't. I accept the way he is because of who he is. If he's just some kid then I'd say he is OTT and not very good and can't se why he's around.

It is, I think. It's certainly not canon for the comics, and DC have been quite open about it. This is a new version of the Batman story.

Yes, I did. I think the characters are being pushed to their extremes without reason: Jerome, he's already the Joker? Barbra, (apart from her American accent changing) she's all over the place. No character progression and it looks silly.

This is an amazing show. Discovered it last weekend on Netflix and watched Season 1, finished last night and then went onto Hulu and discovered the first two episodes on there.

In love with the Penguin and the Riddler.

Maybe it's just me but I can't stand the Jerome character, he seems to be trying too hard & comes across as a bad actor that just chews the scenery.

Just at the moment I thought to myself I miss Cat Girl she appears.

She really is stunning, hint of Michelle Pfeiffer there for sure. Accomplished dancer as well.

This would be the young Joker I imagine, enjoyed his laugh after he beat Gordon.

The second I saw the episode title I knew they were killing Jerome. What an absolutely stupid move, not only did they just kill the best supporting character by miles but they took a giant dump over the legacy of Joker bu making him some lame wannabe copycat. Well done Gotham, you've sunk to a new low.

Well, that was unexpected or was it? With all the heavy teasing, maybe it made sense for the writers to kill off Jerome and set up the legacy of the Joker instead of having the character too early on the show. Or not. Only time will tell.

I do think Jerome got a great exit though and I loved that Theo killed him and assumed the role of hero. He's actually interesting enough as a villain for now.

Theo and Tabitha both sleeping with Barbara (who continues to get crazier and crazier per week) can only end badly for Barbara that is.

I do think these mini arcs like the Scarecrow and Ogre ones actually work for the show more than any of the mob war stuff did last season.

Bullock wanting to protect Gordon/avenge Fish led to a great scene with him and Oswald. Loved Selina saving Bruce in this one as well.

Felt a bit bad for Alfred when he was chatting up Leslie though, 9/10

^I was expecting Alfred to shoot him thru the mouth, then the "wait what, that's not what's supposed to happen" thing unexpectedly happened.
Barbara looking stunning this season, embrassing(?) her psycho inner self defn agrees with her.
Could Leslie + Alfred be a thing if Gordon and her break up.

Babs makes crazy look sexy. much more attractive this season than last. Hard to believe it's the same person

Jerome... I do feel they were making it a bit obvious but then I'm now confused because he was so obvious that I now have no idea who the joker is and I'm supposed to believe he is just someone who took a liking to jerome on TV? They had him set already but I guess the last few weeks he has been overplaying it a bit. As I said before I think, the only thing missing was the suit from him. Bit early?

The suit he wore when posing as the magician was similar in style to that of the Joker, just black instead of purple.

Maybe Jerome will be brought back to life. The same methods as that creepy clinic Fish was captive at for a while. It would explain the discoloured, flaky, 'Joker' skin as well; being dead for a bit must be rubbish for the complexion.

Didn't the creepy Doctor guy threaten to bring Fish back to life if she died in order to prolong her misery?

I don't think we've seen the end of Jerome.

Jerome's actor is in the main cast of the US version of Shameless - I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't available for a longer run.

I know I'm in a minority here but Jerome was getting right on my wick.
I found his overacting and ten minute speeches insufferable to watch.

So I'm glad that the pain in the neck got it in the neck.

I don't think we've seen the end of Jerome.
I think we have, the ending with his father's speech seemed to heavily suggest that Jerome was merely the catalyst for SOMEONE in the future to become The Joker. To be fair it makes sense and plays into the character's unknown origins. We already knew too much about Jerome's past from his episode in the first series so for him to actually be The Joker would have been a letdown, in my opinion.

Another great episode, I hope Lee dies soon though. She brings very little to the show other than being someone who Jim will go to great lengths to protect. Her death would be perfect motivation for him becoming the Jim Gordon we all know and love.

Wow, very strong episode that, much enjoying this take on things, and the casting is excellent. Camren, who plays Selina, resembles Pfeiffer to the point of making me think it was deliberate!
