Good returning episode, really enjoying the Mr Freeze character, that's how Schwarzenegger should have been allowed to play him.

Jim killing Galavan is going to have massive consequences once he's brought back, I hope they use it as a way to kill off Lee

Enjoying the return and the mirroring of Nora and Lee (Leigh?) not stopping what they could see happening to the men they loved.

I like the Indian Hill bits too, the hand with only 3 fingers must be an easter egg to a batman villain, but I can't think who, any ideas?

Interesting route they went with both Nora and Victor's storylines and rather surprising too.

Having Victor now at Indian Hill with Hugo Strange influencing him has a lot of potential, doesn't it?

Oswald really is suffering the consequences of faking insanity. How much longer can they actually keep him in there though?

Gordon/Leslie's domestics were not that interesting and the sooner Barnes is killed off the better. He continues to add nothing of worth to the show.

I did like Barbara's brief appearances and was that Jerome along with Theo in those tanks at the end?

The Bruce storyline is interesting but I can't see him going through with murder though, 7/10

Mr freeze saying i'll be back

Getting increasingly annoyed with this increasingly sloppy show, which I am rapidly falling out of love with.

It makes no sense to have Jim Gordon agonizing over the fact that he "nearly crossed the line" in nearly killing a violent assailant during a difficult arrest.

He has already crossed the line in much worse fashion by asking Penguin to intimidate Gotham's Police Commissioner into resigning! And in return acting as Penguin's enforcer, which resulted in him unlawfully killing someone!!!!

And why is no one investigating the disappearance of Miss Kringle? On which pretty much the only suspect would be Nygma!

Gordon's crossed the line a lot. What's interesting to me: How many others he takes down with him? And, what does Gordon do to right himself and at what cos? That's the hero's journey Jimbo's on.

Latest ep has me wondering if Hugo Strange will be Gothams version of The Flash's Haydron Collidor accident or Smallville Meteor Event, ie. he will be responsible for creating a bunch of future super-villains as a result of his naughty experiments.
btw: really like what they've done with Hugo, though am equally puzzled why they decided to kill of Mrs Fries.

Let's hope so. The actor playing the young Joker did such a great job, it would be criminal not to see him again.


What we like is how well the actor is portraying an embryonic Batman. Writing the lines is one thing, but getting someone that age to convey the subtleties is another. Very pleased with what we're seeing.

The plot no longer needed her. Freeze is now literally reborn, and under the control of Hugo Strange.

IIUC trying to save his wife has been the constant driving force behind Mr Freeze's actions in the comic world. The show has removed that plot option. Hope they don't end up regretting it.

I'm puzzled why he wanted to freeze her in the first place?

She was dying from a currently incurable disease/infection. The aim was to freeze her, find cure, unfreeze, cure. QED.

Freeze's current and most well known origin story came from Batman: the Animated Series' "Heart of Ice", which was then used as the basis for his retconned comic origin and for his origin in the games.

Nora died in that, so the show hasn't removed any plot options.

We already saw the same red haired young man last time they showed us the tanks (along with Fish Mooney).

Stunning episode, this show is bloody great.

Best episode of the season.

It might have been predictable that Bruce wouldn't kill Matches but the scenes between the two of them were genuinely great to watch. The end scene with him living with Selina was an interesting twist too.

Alfred vs. Cupcake was pretty amusing too to be honest, especially for Bullock's later commentary on the hospital.

While I don't want them to gender swap the Joker, Jeri was an excellent possible candidate. Her look was a Joker/Harley mash up and she was fantastic in her scenes with Bruce and Gordon. I really want to see her again.

Nygma's losing the plot in the same episode where Oswald got declared sane by Hugo Strange of all people. The end moment was very on point, 9/10

Bullock seems to have been relegated to a back seat role recently, did the actor offend a producer or something?

Pleased to hear it's been renewed although it was never in any danger of cancellation.

Glad to hear it's been renewed. I wonder if Bruce is departing for a few weeks to learn 'street'. I'd rather we didn't see him and then he emerged closer to the end of the season with street smarts rather than having to watch Selina train him - I'd rather that was implied rather than shown as the idea sounds a little dull.

Interesting episode this week with a random 4 week time jump in the middle. Wonder how long Gordon will be in Black Gate? Surely, Gordon/Bullock would have found a lead somehow in that 4 weeks, purely based on the fact that Bullocks paperwork changed, they must know it's an inside job.

I don't think we've had an episode since the Pilot that was this busy.

Nygma framing Gordon, I kind of dug but drop the serial killer aspect with this variation of the Riddler. It's jarring to be honest.

Gordon will be out by next episode so him getting 40 years at Blackgate seemed a little laughable. Barnes was so quick to believe he was guilty though. Liked that Bullock didn't.

Oswald's scenes with Nygma were great, with Tabitha/Butch odd but amusing with his father and new family intriguing. Everything Oswald related in this episode worked basically.

Butch's nephew is annoying. I really don't want to see him again though good casting resemblance. I did like the Bruce, Selina and Ivy scenes in the episode though.

Barbara being awake, I wonder where they'll go with her now, 8/10

Ah yeah, I'd forgotten about Oswald's family. I'm sure they'll turn out to be "fake" in some kind of play by Hugo Strange, he did say he wasn't done with him right? Plus his new "brother" and "sister" seemed a little uneasy with Oswald.

Not often I watch a TV show and think 'damn that episode was packed', other shows would be stretching the storylines that Gotham put into one episode over weeks...I think it's part of the reason I've come to really like this show, besides the writing, stunning sets and excellent casting, it doesn't waste my time.

Bloody good episode, Nygma embracing The Riddler and Paul Reubens as Penguin's dad were brilliant.

I actually loved this one. Yup, it was cliché a plenty but it worked a lot though.

Gordon's storyline in the longest time actually held my attention and I was shocked that Leslie lost the baby offscreen.

Bullock working with Falcone to get Gordon out of Blackgate was interesting too. I liked that plot.

Oswald's family are freaking nuts. Not Elijah though, he was genuinely wonderful and then he died.

I'd rather have seen Charles try Plan B than Sasha though, 9/10
