I hope Ms Peabody is back next season too. I've found her to be a lot of fun at well.

How did Bruce find out about the secret council and what happened to firefly and freeze?

Presumably Gordon told him while they were all locked up together.

Yeah it was odd why those two suddenly stopped fighting each other and then just disappeared.

I'd have thought Freeze would have wanted to kill Gordon rather than do nothing/leave while Gordon revives Strange.

To be honest the whole finale seemed a bit off to me, some strange edits and characters not really behaving like they would normally (even those not on drugs or being impersonated.)

This whole season's been a bit off for me - and now it's only going to get worse IMO with the return of Fish (the second-worst character, after Barbara).

Also:

Why was Butch still following Penguin around? I thought they only teamed up to get Theo?

Does Gotham only have a single police precinct?

Has the GCPD been without a Commissioner since Essen was killed?

So many questions. Also where did Selena get her nice new hair cut? Talk about out the blue. I know it got mentioned already but it still gives me a chuckle at how not in character it is. It's like the actress got the hair cut and producers went "****. Wear this beanie"

Maggie Geha has been cast as Poison Ivy. Clare Foley was dropped from the show and they've seriously revamped the role .....

Jamie Chung is also playing Valerie Vale, the aunt of Vicki Vale, who is also being introduced this season.

Am wondering if they'll do a similar recasting of Bruce and Selena OR explain away Ivy's transformation with her emerging from a cocoon-type plant thingie, ie. it was the plants wot dun it to me.
Personally I'd like to see a recasting and them showing Bruce training with masters of various fighting techniques and other skills which would be needed for a future crime fighter.

A week and a half until it returns. Anyone else tuning in?

I'm thinking of dropping it.

I hate Barbara, hate Fish, hate the ridiculous "let's make Ivy sexy" idea, and was already getting rather fed up with the show last season.

Nah, I'll be watching it.

The heading for this season (or probably the first half of it) is Mad City.

Finally watched the finale. Execs confirm Poison Ivy, Solomon Grundy, Mad Hatter and Talon for next season.

Pretty sure in those last shots we see... (note, some are just guesses) list of villains/monsters we see (which I've now SPOILERED just in case people see it as spoilers)
Spoiler

Jerome/Joker

Humpty Dumpty (Or whatever he's called. Egbert? I forget. With Mad Hatter and Tweededee/Dum, it makes sense)

Copperhead (those spindly lizard hands and star eyes/coloured face)

The guy looking pale with white spike hair...is that Icicle? (Probably reanimated with a dose of Mr Freeze's blood added)

Floronic Man (some people keep saying the dude with twigs/branches etc. is Scarecrow, but we already have a future Scarecrow and he wasn't in Arkham was he? Plus the general outline of this guy matces FM eerily well, and heck may even indicate how Ivy gets her powers next season)

Bane? Was that REALLY Bane? Hmmm.

We have a set photo from next season that has Killer Croc on it (assumed).

Thomas Wayne Jnr. (yes it could just be a clone or someone else, BUT remember Thomas Wayne started Pinewood to help people...maybe even his own son/Bruce's brother. It does tie in with the court of owls from the comic).

Of course, many more got out of the bus. Really early on in the season when theplace was recieving itsfirst visitors we saw some weird stuff.

As for the court. Given Oswald's newfound ancestry, and that the Kanes are supposedly on next season and likely other Gotham integral elites...I theorize that the court of owls is trying to revive the founding elites of Gotham who are in some sort of stasis.

I did read on a forum where it was confirmed by the writers/producers:

Its a clone of Bruce. They talked of Harley Quinn coming in but said not the Joker

Busy opening episode but a lot of it was mostly enjoyable.

This show needs to lose Barnes and preferably soon. Nothing against the actor but the character adds nothing to the show whatsoever and the episode reinforced how little I care for him.

Oswald and Nygma's scene together was perfect. I love those two being friends. Oswald also side eyeing Babs, Tabs and Butch was amusing to no end when he wasn't embarrassing GCPD and obsessing over Fish.

Fish dying I kind of expecting but I did enjoy her scenes and having Marv kill off Peabody and set about Ivy's transition was pretty interesting as well. Selina just realised how out of her depth she was there.

Gordon is a crap bounty hunter but he did the right thing by letting Leslie get on with things. I did like his rapport with Valerie in this one and his scenes with Bullock were great too.

The doppelganger Bruce plot I hope isn't dragged out too long though. Nice stuff with the Court of Owls in this one too, 7/10

I loved Alfred sorting out the suits at the meeting. As you say, not a bad opening. Many, many threads set in motion.

Solid episode but nothing too great about it.

New Ivy is off to a promising start though. She didn't have a lot of screen time but Maggie Geha did make it work.

The said, the show did not waste time in having Ivy kill someone though, did they? The guy was a little thoughtless about plants but he didn't deserve for it.

I do hope the show doesn't go overboard with the seductress route with Ivy even if it's a big part of her character though.

Fish's plot came to an abrupt ending of sorts. Oswald had the chance to kill her but instead let her and Strange go with Gordon sort of aiding it as well. I did love Fish and Bullock's scenes together though.

Barnes continues to bore me as a character but I am liking Lucius in the GCPD though.

Gordon and Valerie I saw coming but it was rushed though and timed with Leslie's return and Barbara going over past ground though.

Bruce's scenes with the Court of Owls lady were okay but it quickly fizzled out. The ganger bit at the end though has potential.

I guess we know what Oswald's next storyline is going to be, 7/10

The Ivy thing is confusing me. I know what happened aged her physically but is she still suppose to be 15ish? if so I can't see how the seduction stuff will work without it feeling uncomfortable. I spent the whole time during the scenes with the truck driver thinking 'omg she is just a child don't go there'.

I think in hindsight they should never have introduced this character as a child.

Yes, they are going to have to be very careful how they write this one.

I thought the mob killing Fish's two henchwomen and then burning their bodies was dark as heck, even by Gotham's standards.

I'm a bit behind with this (Episode 12, Season 1) as I didn't think I'd enjoy it (more police crime drama, less superheroes and supervillains) though as with Breaking Bad, I'm hooked.

I can't imagine there's any cancellation on the horizon yet, but I'd be willing to bet that in the final episode we'll see Bruce suit up as Batman (though probably a different actor due to the youth of the current one).

I thought Jim getting (via Penguin) the Mob to attack in the first place very dark.

How many people died in that attack apart from the 2 henchwomen?

Some of the Mob were certainly shot (and probably killed) and did any of the Police get killed trying to stop the Mob (there seemed to be a distinct lack of Police when the body burning was going on).

So what was that in the latest episode, some sort of clone at the end? A Hugo Strange experiment? Clayface?

As much as I love the show, I have found the premiere so-so. Preferred last year's season 2 premiere with the Maniax.

James Gordon doesn't interest me much, I do wish they would give Harvey Bullock more to do. Oswald Cobblepot is still great as ever, and I am liking Bruce and Alfred, despite Wayne Manor yet again being attacked for the umpteenth time.

The whole Ivy Pepper being rushed to become Poison Ivy is ridiculous. I know the child Ivy wasn't major (not that some of the regulars are any better) but seems a bit desperate.

Looking forward to introduction of Jervis Tetch/The Mad Hatter. Hopefully he will be a good villain.

How boring is Penguin's limousine? Shouldn't have a car in the shape of a giant penguin or something?
