I'm actually wondering if Barbara is
Spoiler
I seem to recall the show runner saying that when they introduced that character, it would as somebody we already knew, so that's a good shout.

Spoiler
Sorry been thinking it since season 2 and the way the character is acting is putting it all into place.

Surely age wise she would be too old, she would need to be more teenage like Bruce and Selena

Depends look how Ivys age changed after she fell down that hole if something similar happens to this character but makes her younger then it opens the door.

Well, that was a bit trippy. I'll admit we learned nothing in Gordon's subconscious that we didn't already know about the guy but I did enjoy the scenes he had with Barbara and his father though.

Why do I get the feeling the mystery man Kathryn was talking to at the end was someone we met in this episode? Nice to see the show hasn't forgotten the Court of Owls storyline as well. Liked Oswald's scene with Kathryn as well.

Oswald's attempts to sabotage Edward and Isabella didn't work but something is obviously off with Isabella though. Even the trailer for the next episode ran with that.

Tetch's latest plan makes me glad that he's on the way out. The character has been okay but it feels like the show has ran quickly out of steam with him in a way.

Get on with it, already, Barnes. And bye, Valerie.

Bruce and Selina's little date scene was nice enough too, 7/10

I groaned when I realised this episode was going to be mostly devoted to Jim's psyche, but I quite enjoyed what they did with the visions.

It can't be a coincidence though that the GCPD pulled off their only successful plan in the history of...ever and Jim wasn't involved?

NuKringle is fantastically creepy. The paper dolls. The listing of many doomed couples throughout literature. Pretty sure her plans for Ed are going to be very sinister indeed.

NuKringle must be up to something. I think she's after revenge for her sister*, OldKringle.

And Jim's dull visions were worth it for Nurse Barbara.

*nothing confirmed or anything, just speculation.

I agree that there's something fishy going on with NuKringle, but I actually doubt it's anything to do with OldKringle. Surely, in their brief romance, OldKringle would have mentioned to Ed that she had a sister?

A great episode. The Barnes storyline feels like something they lifted from a New Batman Adventures episode but it's slightly improved him a little character wise so there's that.

Mario's jealous side showed up pretty fast here too. I can't see him and Leslie actually making it down the aisle to be honest.

Barbara needs to do more than just pop up and annoy someone.

Isabella dressing up as Kringle was creepy but did they really just kill her off like that? Edward isn't gonna be please with, Oswald for that one, 7/10

I thought it was brilliant the way the actress managed to look exactly like Kringle!

Isabella was played by the same actress who played Kristen

Not true actually. The original actress died, which is why they had to write her out of the show and why the last couple of episodes the character was in before her death she was always wearing that diving helmet. They now have her twin playing her original character, pretending to be her twin. It's pretty straightforward.

What nonsense! Chelsea Spack always played Miss Kringle and now plays Isabella.

Is that it for Barnes? I kind of wished the show had done one better and killed him off. He's one of those characters the show can afford to lose.

The scenes with him and Gordon just felt strained and predictable and Arkham is ineffective as well.

I did like Ivy's return but she's not really that bright though. She played off Selina and Bruce pretty well though and I like that she's using plants for her own purposes too.

Edward figured out Isabella was murdered quickly but he'll soon realise that Butch didn't kill her. Oswald should watch himself.

The painting was interesting, 7/10

I love the idea of that awful painting hanging up in an official gallery for years to come and tour guides being all "yes, they were...close. Also, they're both supervillains now'.

Otherwise: meh. Definitely not one of their best this week.

I enjoyed Ivy still being a daft teenager inside. And she stirred up the Cat/Bat romance nicely.

Well, last week, when we saw Isabella flying toward that train, I didn't think they were actually going to kill her off. Seems odd they've brought the same actress back for two roles and killed her both times. Third time lucky maybe?

Be interesting to see Ed put all the pieces together. Butch has somewhat fallen off the radar as of late. Speaking of Butch too, whatever happened to Fish? She's seemingly disappeared too...

.

I would love that. Although I'm hoping she's still alive and it's all a big scam. Perhaps Barbara, Tabitha and Butch rescued her and planted a fake body.

Disappointed they killed Isabella off. Was hoping her looking like Kringle was going to be part of the story somehow.

There seems to be quite a role reversal this season. Last season we had Jim wanting to work outside the law to bring criminals to justice, but has returned to his by-the-book cop ways while Barnes has now taken up the role of (a much brutal) vigilante type character.

Same with Oswald and Edward. Last season Oswald grieved for his mother and it was Ed of all people who got him back to the dark side, while this season Ed is all broken up over Isabella's death, despite being the one to convince Oswald they are better off alone.

Hope we get further development with the Court of Owls, how many more times are we going to have some armed men chasing down Bruce and Selina? Poor Ivy being brought to Wayne Manor of all places, seeing as it gets attacked as much as the police precinct.

I could've done without seeing Tabitha losing a hand, but overall I liked this one. That said, Nygma seriously needs to get over himself as well.

This episode made me care for Butch and Tabitha than I have done in the show and I did like Barbara trying to save them as well as later teaming up with Butch for some revenge.

Barbara was brilliantly used in this episode and had some great interactions with everyone. Her reaction to learning about Oswald's feelings for Nygma were priceless to be honest.

Mario being painted as a bad guy feels a little too convenient in order to have Gordon and Leslie get back together but if it means more of Falcone, then I'm pleased.

Ivy was fairly useless in this episode but I did like the Bruce/Selina/Alfred/Whisper Gang/Court of Owls stuff though, 8/10

Good mid-season finale. More set up than loose ends being tied up but definitely enough to get me back in 2017 with it.

Can Babs succeed where Fish failed in Season 1 and become the underworld queen? I'd be impressed if she did but I do like this potential team up with herself, Tabitha, Butch and Nygma though.

It seems like Nygmobblepot just torpedoed in this episode as well. Or did it? Maybe Ed is playing both sides. Maybe he'll forgive Oswald. Stranger things have happened on this show.

Selina and her mother. I guess that'll be the arc for the three episodes airing in January. Nice introduction and her and Bruce really did feel like they were becoming their future selves with Alfred in the mix. Talon died too soon though.

Nice to see Zsasz again though the Gordon/Leslie/Mario stuff was fairly dull. With Carmine popping up so much and Mario dead, I'm guessing he'll come out of retirement soon.

And now Jerome will be back too? 8/10

Tetch's prison hat was a nice touch!

Gordon knows his weakness now and can use it against him at any time.

Barbara's mime of NuKringle's death made me laugh. Plus, she is getting hotter as she gets madder.
