This seems to be a waste of time,and being used as a leveller to readjust for any judging errors or rather performances that didn't match the judges expectations, in terms of the scripted entries into the semifinal.

Why not do another pro celeb group dance..and let the public see how the last six perform on the same dance floor..no knock outs..no last man standing..just a means to augment how ones faves compare.

Why should the quarter finals be influenced by such an ineffective mini dance competition..look at the judges, they were like deers in headlights...they were struggling to agree and make snap decisions.

Can't stand the swingathon. Definitely chuck it!

I liked it. I thought it was too rushed though and they should have had more time to demonstrate.

I did feel sorry for the first couple voted off since they probably spent a long time rehearsing for what was finally just 12 bars of dancing (yes- I counted them!)and the camera work was just too poor to enable the audience to see much. I had to rewind to watch the first three couples voted off because I barely saw them. However in past years it was slightly better with longer songs allowing us to see more.

Why not just go to two-dance a week earlier, like they used to? No gimmicks, no fiddling, and everyone gets to learn every dance.

that would work too..although I like the idea of them all strutting their stuff at the same time to show comparisons.

The dancers at the back of this years swingathon set up..had to spend more time getting off the stage and onto the dance floor..and that reduced their exposure as well..but yes the darned thing should be scrapped.

Do they call it a swingathon because the judges use it to swing the scores for their favourites to get a better position on the leader board?

a swingathon is a sweet snack with nuts in that take a while to pick out yer teeth
