Interesting that its in their contracts not to criticise the show.

It's disgraceful they used a comment Lucy said two weeks previously to make her look bad...and judging by some f the posts on here...it worked..

But to edit someone looking like they are attacking someone is wrong...

The editing in reality shows has always been questionable but to insert a comment Lucy made into a totally different conversation 2 weeks later with the express purpose of making her look bad is surely a new low?

She was making constant sly digs though,as was Layla

They showed Amy to be selfish also and no one is complaining she had an 'unfair edit'

You mean in the eviction interview?
They put all the clips together like that for everyone!!

They have to show 2 weeks in 2 minutes...!

Big Brother on C5 did the same. They had a row between Aaron and Faye in BB12 they showed the row then Faye went outside and cried (in completely different clothes) then Faye came back in to speak to Aaron in the previous clothes. So unless she was fond of costume changes the crying scene was for added effect by the producers.

I have always said, the edit can make things look different but just don't say anything nasty if you don't want it to be twisted, but now they are so naughty in how they edit it, they don't just snip up a conversation, they add in stuff that isn't there.

Kind of puts all those dirty looks into context doesn't it? How easy is it to insert a dirty look shot after someone speaks.

Amy WAS selfish ... She wouldn't give her contraband up, she thought she deserved extra food because she did a trial and she slept rather than work... Every camp member said the same thing about her.. That's a fact

No. Lucy said the conversation of them welcoming back the camp saviours was edited. When Amy said it was their last night all together, Lucy was shown saying they were happy without you here. Lucy claims she said that when the two camps merged at the beginning and not in the conversation in which the show showed her saying it.

I've deleted it because the above poster explained it much better than I could

Constant? We see a small fraction of their day and what we do see is cleverly edited. We have no idea of what is really happening in there until people come out.

Did we know that Laila was laid up with back pain for a week 'til she told us afterwards..no. We saw her lying around on her bed a lot, so she was deemed lazy and 'a fine one to talk'.

I always thought something was a bit weird because when they showed Lucy saying things, making 'digs' ect that we were lead to believe were about Amy.. Amy was sat right there but didn't seem to pay any attention, as if what Lucy was saying had no reference to her at all. This happened on more than one occasion.

I work in TV/Film so I know exactly how they can edit things.. it's very easy. Adding bits to the conversation, cutting bits out to make it sound worse, showing different looks that were from a totally different time/conversation.

Did you even read the OP's link? Plainly not. This is to do with a specific event where Lucy came across as being specifically bitchy to Amy in direct response to a comment Amy made. The point is, Lucy's remark related to an entirely different conversation at an earlier time in the show, so what we were shown was completely manufactured to make Lucy look really petty.

How sad that those who dislike Lucy can't stand back and be objective about this?

On another level, despite now knowing it was a nasty cynical piece of editing, I feel entirely justified in my opinion at the time that Lucy HAD been bitchy to Amy, which other posters thought was an incorrect impression, because surely it's clear now that that was the intention.

I hope ITV and the producers are proud of themselves and the part they played in generating such hate and loathing for Lucy.

So you agree Amy came across as selfish?

As she isn't complaining about an unfair edit then she must be happy with it.

I really hope that Lucy takes issue with ITV on this as it's a little different from any contractual issues. They have deliberately misrepresented her and that is unacceptable.

I won't be bothering with IAC next year I imagine....

Just wanted to add re: Amy had unfair editing,

She really didn't. People said she was lazy and we were shown plenty of footage of her doing nothing or a half assed job.

To balance it out we were shown her working hard in trials, offering to cook, volunteering to do trials, doing chores when she was asked.

It was very clear from the edit that she was lazy but they could have stitched her up by only ever showing her doing nothing. They could also have shown people asking her to do stuff and then cut to a shot of her sunbathing and seemingly ignoring the request if they'd wanted to stitch her up with the editing.

If anyone got a fair edit based on what we did see and the views of other camp mates, I'd say it was Amy.

Well she could have been IF she wasn't voted to be the laziest in the camp, IF evictees weren't all saying the same thing and IF her father hadn't gone to the press confirming that she was indeed lazy.

That's kind of my point though. She was clearly lazy and the edit could have made her look even worse by never showing her lift a finger but it seems that they did show her occasionally doing stuff, so if anything, viewers might think "why are they picking on her look she's doing stuff"

Had they chosen to never show her do anything at all that would have stitched her up, despite the fact that she clearly was the laziest, so to argue that Amy had an unfair edit is ridiculous as they did show occasions which could contradict what others were saying.

Of course the sensible viewer combines what they see with what the ex camp mates say and because of the two combined it is perfectly clear that Amy's edit was fair.

And I also think the ex campmates comments after they came out made people think they were not getting the true picture of Lucy and that's why she was voted to stay for so long

Yes, I noticed that too. It was odd.

It is disgraceful and I will definitely not watch anymore, what is the point if they can't play fair and let the public judge for themselves.

Sorry. I misread what you were trying to say.

Yes, they could have made her look worse, not that laziness bothers me too much as a viewer.
