I would be interested to know not only the percentages but also the absolute number of votes cast for each contestant. We would know then to what extent Lucy's unexpectedly high 3rd placing was the result of the 2,300 plus votes for her from the teenager with alleged learning disabilities. (Unexpected by the bookmakers, I mean.)

No we wouldn't.

I have no doubt some of the other celebrities would have had people voting for them a high multiple number of times especially Joey and kian

When This Morning did a poll in week 1 and 2 on viewers fave campmate Lucy was both times in the top 3. So based on this I'm not surprised she did well.
I have normally found This Morning polls to be the most accurate when it comes to I'm a Celeb and Dancing on ice.

This was the result of This Morning Poll in Week 1
1st Joey
2nd Lucy
3rd Kian

Week 2
1st Joey
2nd Kian
3rd Lucy

Yes we would!

I'm sure you're right in what you say in the second part of your post but if you reread my post you'll see that I wasn't arguing otherwise.

I'm curious about the possible effect on the result of this "competition" of the voting behaviour of this one particular individual, allegedly with a clinical psychological problem & out of control on her phone.

Moreover, a low absolute number of votes cast would presumably create the potential for betting fraud. Someone could bet very heavily on one contestant (eg to be in the final 3), then invest £1000 or so in phone calls & recoup that investment with a huge profit.

Obviously, the higher the number of votes, the less feasible this would be.

Frankly unreliable (imo) virgin 'heroes and villains of twitter' list for 2013, which claims to have counted how many positive and negative twitter references someone generated.

As I say, I am not convinced; still if anyone is interested to see what they have come up with, Amy is villain number 7 with 11,047 negative tweets and Joey is number 2 hero with 20,528 positive tweets.
