We had to sing it every Christmas when I was at primary school and it was enough to put me off for life.

Merry Xmas Everybody - Slade

This was one of the first singles I bought on my own in Woolworths with a birthday record token way back Xmas 73, still have it in its plain wrapper here.
Cost about 50p back then if I remember.
We had our colour TV that Christmas too, so Top of the Pops had them in full glorious colour.

Next year was another favourite, Lonely this Christmas - Mud
