Yup a lot of people are seeing the new 4.4.2 update for Nexus devices. Most skipping straight over 4.4.1 . I've still yet to see either on my Nexus 5, however.

All 3 devices here showed the OTA at roughly the same time.

I've switched back to ART on the N5 now whatsapp works with it, feels really fast now.

Just a shame it takes forever updating apps after installing the OTA with ART enabled.

You could just side load the zip file?

Thats the exact attitude i have taken since i went all Nexus, bought developer devices and never bothered to do anything else, just let it come naturally (ooer)

One problem I have found with 4.4.2 is that MX Player is giving an "unsupported os" error message.

This has happened before. It's just that MX has like a white list of approved is versions. When 4.3 came out the dev was away or something, but otherwise it's not normally a problem.

Yes, I remember that. Hopefully this is fixed soon as MX Player is by far the best Android media player available.

I got sick of waiting so sideloaded it to my Nexus 5 using ADB. The camera is much more responsive.

I got an OTA update this morning. Can now use the ART runtime as what's app is now working with that.

The camera seems to be noticeably quicker from first impressions.

The ability to get updates so quickly from google like this is such a massive advantage IMO

Arrived on my Nexus 5 about an hour ago. Too early to assess full effects on camera yet but volume and speaker problem certainly sorted.

Have finally got the 4.4.2 update to my 2012 version of the Nexus 7 but now my Nexus 7 seems a little slower to boot up and load the my liburay home screen when you first turn it on. Don't know if its the update that's cousing it or not as the updated been fine on my Nexus 4.

I have to say that I have noticed no problems on any of our Nexus devices with this update.

There's a test build for MX Player to support 4.4.2 available at https://sites.google.com/site/mxvpen...ion/test-build

You need to manually uninstall the previous version first.

it's weird that it takes so much effort to make something that works on 4.4 work on 4.4.2
