it's weird that it takes so much effort to make something that works on 4.4 work on 4.4.2
Yes, it is a pain to go through this every time there is an Android point release, but it is worth it as MX Player is the best media player around - and I have tried lots of them.

I can understand why you would want to specify a minimum o/s level but setting a maximum makes no sense, especially when it is just a small increment. There's a long discussion about it here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!to...er/w5SRxi7um9s

yeah i've been following that thread.

there is another one where a guy removed the version check and people reported it didn't work properly.

my instinct, like most people was that the version check is ridiculous. but the program is so well written with complicated hardware integration that it's difficult to believe that the same dev could make such a school boy error.

so i wonder if the issue is not more complicated than we first thought, or if maybe the original dev is not working on it any more.
