I recently changed service providers from EE to O2, I kept my number because I thought that would be the easiest thing to do

I have had a few texts from friends since then asking if I have changed my number and I have also have texts not coming through on my iPhone but I have been recieving them on my iPad.......

Any ideas or advice as to why this is happening would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

ipad doesn't support text messages.
it has to be iMessages you are receiving on iPad.

Turning it off on the iPad will just mean you won't see any iMessages at all probably.

And o2 will more than likely point you at the nearest Apple store as well as iMessages are nothing to do with them.

Go to this page and scroll down to the section about setting up iMessages and double check the settings it shows there on your iPhone.

http://www.apple.com/uk/ios/messages/

Make sure the contact details are correct and match the change from EE to o2 as necessary.

thanks for your help, I have spoken to an "O2 Guru" and they have talked me through what I need to do, the settings on my new phone were set up for the temporary number they gave me in the shop, I have now changed it to my old number so fingers crossed

I appreciate your assistance, thank you very much indeed
