The next single from Pure Heroine, Lorde is releasing Team. The video came out the other week. When i got this album, this song immediatley clicked with me and it's all i have listened to for well over a month. It deserves to be a big hit for 2014

I'm in the minority but I don't get her. She isn't exactly likeable and her songs aren't that great. IMO, anyway.

I like 'Team' too, maybe more so than 'Royals'

The video is cool, although I can't really warm to Lorde as a person.

I am with you to be honest, have listened to her album and I was more 'meh' than 'wow'. Royals is a fantastic track but the rest of the album doesn't live up, I think going forward she will very much be a niche artist. Not to my taste. I don't think the massive international chart success of Royals was at all planned for or expected and we probably won't see a repeat. Team might do OK though.

I saw this the other week and was baffled, put off even:

She should have given Tennis Court a proper release

That's actually quite disturbing.

I think Royals will be her most rememberable here, not saying she's a one hit wonder but I think Royals will be her signature song which we will remember her for, like for instance

Ricky Martin - Livin La Vida Loca
NSync - Bye Bye Bye
Natalie Imbuglla(or how ever you spell her name) - Torn
If you get what I mean, big artists but mostly remembered with one big song here in UK

Very strange performance

I have to agree there's something about her that's just a little hard to take to, I don't think she'll be a huge star (not at this point anyway), but I do think the album was divine. Understated, but really really good.

I've always wanted her to release The Love Club as a single but yeah Tennis Court for sure deserves a proper single release.

I really like Team, so glad it has been released and the video is just what I imagined. I do hope it will be a big hit, though of course it won't rival Royals

To be honest I don't see anything wrong but I don't also see anything wrong with the stage presence of a Joe Cocker, Thom Yorke, Ian Curtis or Peter Garrett.

It's a great song, but not as good as Royals imo. I think it'll be a hit. It's already taking off in the US.

I quite liked Royals but the way she sang "I rule, I rule , i rule " sounded EXACTLY like the way my dog would howl at the cat who taunts him on the back fence.

I find Team a bit dull.

Nothing wrong with it. I mean, if that's how she wants to perform. It just wasn't exactly comfortable viewing.

I don't see what is wrong with her performances or her as a person
If i judged whether i bought someone's music based on someone's personality, i would have the tiniest music collection ever. It's irelevant.

I struggle with what I feel about Lorde. She's clearly very talented and her songs are certainly well written but.....she doesn't involve or move me. And it isn't her 'awkwardness' live (although her movements ARE weird and that's coming from a big Joe Cocker fan) because LDR can also be described as 'awkward'on stage and I love her. Her utterances on other artists are frankly embarrassing for someone so young and with so few life experiences and I'm sure (or maybe hope) she realises that further down the line.

Oh, and Tennis Court would have been a far better single than this. But she's huge in the US right now so why should she care what people like me think?

It's not irrelevant, though.

Ask Gaga, James Arthur and so on.
