OK, I know it's in the John Lewis advert but am I the only one pretty shocked to see this selling so well?
I really don't think much of it, so far as covers go it's pretty awful in my opinion. It's certainly no where near as good as Ellie Gouldings 'Your Song' cover a few years ago. Lets take a moment to appreciate this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oextk-If8HQ |

Terrible cover. Her vocals are horrific
It's a shame her other Hard out there has pretty much flopped, due to all the attention surrounding this Out of all the John lewis songs, i like "please please, let me get what i want" by slow Moving millie. Beautifully sung and although not intended to be, the lyrics actually were relevant to the advert and christmas. |

I agree it's not as good as 'Your Song' by Ellie Goulding.
It's actually quite unlistenable with the advert removed. |

I thought it was interesting when I first heard it but I got sick of it pretty quickly and it's wayy overplayed. I'm surprised it's still popular.
Also, she's kind of screwed herself over, because her song "Hard For a B*tch" which I assume is from her next album has just been completely forgotten about. That is a shame but it made absolutely no sense that she released them at the same time. Why not wait until next year? |
