You can - it goes into your Apple account so can be used on any of your devices.

can't see why not .. you might have to remove it from your phone first though and then just log in to the iTunes store app on your iPad. silly thing is, i don't have enough space to keep this on my phone for too long, even though i've got 64gb

Doesn't it stayb in your icloud library. I haven't downloaded it because it's too big but I can stream it on my iPod touch and I've just checked its available to stream or download on my iPad.

I started to download the film, thinking it could be something I watch when away over NY - then Virgin Media died, so I doubt it worked, but I am now using my iPad as a server lol.

If you have a good internet connection at home/ dont want it for when you are out and about you can steam it rather than storing it on your phone.

With all the free gifts they are simply reduced to free on the App Store for the day (you don't need to go via the 12 days app). Therefore as long as you manage to "purchase" it during the free period it will be permanently available on your iTunes account across all your devices, just like any other purchase (free or otherwise). So even if you delete it off your iPhone or iPad you can subsequently redone load t at a later date at no extra cost.

I suppose if you've got App Gratis, App of the Day or even Apps Gone Free, it kind of makes the 12 Days promotion a bit redundant because you get a free app every day with those. Admittedly you won't get music or movies, but you still get a good selection of free apps and games.

Doesn't make it redundant at all - they have different freebies

Stupid DRM... iTunes is refusing to download the HD versions of Home Alone on my computer because it thinks it doesn't meet the requirements for playing HDCP protected HD video, which it says means Windows 7 (or a Mac) is needed. I guess they're just trying to annoy as many Windows users as they think they can get away with doing, to try to make them switch and buy a Mac.

That's why I prefer to obtain movies from certain other places where they don't have any restrictions on how you can use what you download.

Oh well, at least my iPod touch is able to download the HD version, or at least the 720p version of it, and then I should be able to sync that. Anyway once you've "bought" it, you can always download the other version later. Quite a lot to download: 1.73GB (SD), 3.70GB (HD 720p), 4.69GB (HD 1080p). I'll probably never watch it either.

Well obviously ..

But who's to say the freebies offered in this promotion wouldn't have turned up in App Gratis or any of the other ones ?

I expect Apple will ensure they won't.

Only a few more hours to 2014, and six more freebies which I reckon will probably be better overall than the first six (they can't get any worse, can they?)

The next freebie is Rayman Run which is a pretty fun game.

The reviews are saying it doesn't work properly since the iOS7 update.

Have not looked at it properly, but from what I have seen it is only a trial as pop ups keep coming up inviting me to pay for things. So much for a 'free' gift.

Some decent gifts, home alone, something else and Rayman! Yes please.

Here's to more of gifts!

That's nice of Apple - giving us an app for free that became free on Monday.
